Mr. and Mrs. Barker, I know we had a chance to speak on the phone, but I wanted to take the time to personally respond to your concerns as I take them very seriously. First off, let me apologize on behalf of the store for the way things have turned out. I wish I could say it makes me feel good to hear that we did a great job of selling and delivering the car for you, but I can’t after your experience with our store since the delivery process. It sounds like the majority of the issues came down to poor communication on our end, as well as us dropping the ball at a key point in our delivery process. The two issues that you brought up in our phone conversation had to do with the application of an aftermarket product you purchased from us (Enviro Care), and the other to do with a small tear on your steering wheel. Please let me address both here. We did drop the ball in the application of our Enviro Care product after your purchase of your Volkswagen CC. That is why as soon as you brought to our attention that a stain had appeared that should not have, we immediately ordered all items necessary to resolve the issue and set an appointment with you to properly apply the Enviro Care to your vehicle. We have since used our experience with you to tweak our policies and procedures to ensure a better quality control on our Enviro Care application and overall delivery processes and we appreciate that you have allowed us to resolve this issue with you. The second issue was with a small tear on the bottom/back side of your steering wheel. The vehicle was brought in for the Enviro Application in the morning, and taken home when it was completed shortly there after. Later in the evening the vehicle was brought back and you stated that there was a tear in the leather on the backside of the bottom of the steering wheel and you felt that damage was a result of your car being at our shop. We explained that your vehicle had been in for the Enviro application and that was done with micro fiber rags and liquids, and not any type of technician tool that would be capable of cutting anything, and we explained that this application process in a separate facility where technician tools are not stored and technicians do not work. Our service manager then went on to take photos of the tear and sent them to Volkswagen to see if we could get it covered under any manufacturer warranty or goodwill in an effort to help you get the vehicle repaired. This claim was declined as it was show to be damage and not defect. We want to keep you a happy customer of ours just like we strive with all of our customers and feel that we have a way of fixing your steering wheel for you. If you could please contact us back we would be happy to try and resolve this issue for you. We take great pride in our customer survey scores as they are a reflection of our performance. My family has been in business in the city of Norman since 1973, and certainly could not have built that business by upsetting their customers in the way it seems we have upset you, or intentionally trying to run people off. It is very important to us that every customer leave with an overall positive experience. This is our goal weather the customer does business with us or not. Clearly this was not the case for you and I am sorry for that. We have used your feedback to help educate our employees even more on our processes to ensure that they are all up to speed and implementing our policies as expected. I want to thank you for pointing out our faults, and again apologize for your poor experience as our goal was not to have you leave with a negative perception of our organization. The only resolution that is acceptable is replacing the steering wheel unless you have a way to repair it without it being visible or able to feel it. We are waiting to hear from Volkswagen as to what they feel should be done to resolve this issue. We are supposed to be hearing from them by Friday. I purchased a brand new car and I expect it to be brand new. I don't think that is too much to ask. In the meantime, please let us know what you wish to do.

I just spoke with Volkswagen Customer Care and they have informed me that the steering wheel will be replaced and covered at 100%. No repair but replaced. They informed me that Fowler VW would be in contact with me to scheduled the work. I would like to have the steering wheel replaced at the same time you replace the arm rest which was ordered previously. Volkswagen Customer Care informed me that they had informed the GM at Fowler of this decision.

Volkswagen Customer Care has informed me that they have authorized "replacement" with a new steering wheel and it will be covered by VW 100%. This is not a fix or repair but a new steering wheel. We want your assurance that this is what will be done.
