I had a 9:30 AM Appointment made with the service manager to have my driver door window switch for the front passenger window replaced. I asked if they had the part in stock because that had been an issue onc to have my driver door window switch for the front passenger window replaced. I asked if they had the part in stock because that had been an issue once before. I was told it would be OK. I also had a problem with my driver side windshield wiper blade. I arrived at 9:15AM. I got checked in and the blade was just a piece of metal that had not gotten locked into place..I asked about how long it might take for the switch. I was told about an hour and a half. The service writer looked confused when I said I would wait. He offered a shuttle but I explained I was on a vacation day to get this work done so I could wait. At noon, two and a half hours later I went to check on the progress and my car had not been started on yet. I was not happy with the prospect of waiting another hour and a half so I said to cancel the work and bring my car up. It still took another half hour to process me on my way. I had an appointment. Had I been a walk-in it would have been a different story. When I have an appointment at the VA Clinic for 9:00 AM my butt better be sitting in a chair because somebody will call my name at 9:00 AM SHARP! That is the standard I work on. That is the standard that excellent customer service is based on. so to answer your question: Hey Bruce! Was Kia of Greenville awesome? No. It was not awesome. Excellent Interaction With Service Advisor, but. Chris Hall is an excellent service advisor and was enjoyable to interact with. Unfortunately, Kia as a whole seems to be an unorganized corporation an Chris Hall is an excellent service advisor and was enjoyable to interact with. Unfortunately, Kia as a whole seems to be an unorganized corporation and I'm unsure of the skill of the mechanics in the shop. I had some warranty items that needed to be fixed while it was in the shop for collision repair, that unfortunately were not fixed - and maybe even worse when it was returned to me. Thankfully, I was able to make another appointment and was given a free car rental while waiting for it to be corrected... again. When I went back to get my car, the problem was finally solved, but it was also clear that my brand new car had not been detailed prior to picking it up and had evidence of undergoing work throughout the interior. I'm sure if I went back to Kia and requested free detailing, Chris would make it happen, but for both of our sake I'll give him a few weeks free of my presence. Overall, if I didn't have a brand new car under warranty with Kia, I would definitely not go there as my first option for routine service. That being said, it could have been a lot worse. EDIT: I just went to detail my car to get rid of all the dust and whatnot from getting it serviced, and there were SEVERAL examples of shoddy workmanship by their employees. Black sticky tar-like glue that was still wet and left near my molding that had stained both my external car under my back trunk/door and the light colored headliner. The 3rd row middle seatbelt was stuck in the roof of the car and inaccessible. There were gaps between the cars side panel and the headliner interiorly. And the headliner had not been properly re-installed from when it was taken down. Unfortunately I have made yet another appointment for this week to go get it all taken care of. When this is all said and done, I will never set foot in Kia again, even if the first oil change is free. More
I had a good experience as I always do when I bring my car. chris was friendly, I have a new cell phone and he fixed it so I could my blue tooth, which was above what I brought my car in for.
