This review is based on text messages, signed paperwork, invoices, photographs, and records I retained throughout the process. I brought my 2019 Buick LaCrosse to Freehold Buick GMC for a transmission conc invoices, photographs, and records I retained throughout the process. I brought my 2019 Buick LaCrosse to Freehold Buick GMC for a transmission concern. On May 4, 2026, Service Advisor Carmen Semenza told me the service contract claim had been denied. I clearly declined the transmission replacement and said I wanted my vehicle returned. My vehicle remained at the dealership for 31 days. On May 8, Carmen told me the transmission had already been disassembled, described broken parts in a tray, and said there was no guarantee the vehicle could be put back together. When I inspected the car the next day, the transmission appeared to still be installed. The driveshaft had been removed, exhaust components had been cut or disconnected, and a replacement transmission was under the vehicle. What I observed did not appear consistent with what I had been told. On May 12, Service Manager Bill Marter told me I was financially responsible because the replacement transmission had already been ordered and could not be returned. I repeatedly requested the written policy, authorization records, and documentation supporting that position. I was never provided with them. When I tried to escalate my concerns, Bill told me that he did not report to the General Manager. My requests for dealership ownership to review the matter also went unanswered. This left me with serious concerns about accountability and where a customer can turn when a major service dispute occurs. I also received multiple missed completion dates and inconsistent explanations throughout the process. The original signed agreement stated that the exhaust and transmission would be installed for $4,000 plus tax. At the last minute, however, I was told the amount was a “deductible.” When I picked up the vehicle, the final invoice instead listed a “Misc. Charge” and referred to a GM claim and deductible. I do not have a GM service contract. My contract was through a non-GM third-party provider. No GM pre-approval was attached to the invoice, and no New Jersey sales tax was charged even though the signed agreement stated $4,000 plus tax. I was never given a satisfactory explanation for why the description of the charge, the contract classification, and the tax treatment changed. After 31 days, I paid the amount demanded to regain possession of my vehicle. I do want to thank Anthony, who treated me professionally, listened to my concerns, and helped move the process toward finally getting my car returned. My advice to other customers is to get every authorization, estimate, coverage decision, parts order, charge, deductible, and cancellation policy in writing before allowing major work to proceed. Based on my experience, I would not return to Freehold Buick GMC for service. More

I had not planned on buying the Envista, I just wanted to see the car since seeing it in a new cars article for 2024. Mitch was so nice in answering all of my questions when I stopped in the first time. Because of Mitch's customer service I returned to test drive and bought the car! Customer Service skills are unique to find today and Mitch Zarrow is one of a kind. I have always been a VW person, having owned a 74 beetle and my 1997 Passat that I was driving until I bought the Envista. My intention was to upgrade to an Audi Q3, the Audi dealership was without Customer Service skills, their loss! I visited six dealerships, four failed on customer service, one mediocre and Freehold Buick GMC because of Mitch was OUTSTANDING! More

Turns out it was a ba Their service prices as extremely overpriced. My AC was blowing warm. Was told $199 to check it which would include freon. Turns out it was a bad clutch on the compressor. The quote was over $1400. You can see online the MSRP for a new GM compressor is around $500. Even with the diagnosis that is $700 for labor. When I told the service advisor the price was too high and I could get it done somewhere else, he didn't care. No offer to try to work with me to close the deal. So I verified I wouldn't be charged for freon since no repair was done and was assured that would be the case. The bill was $200 anyway. NOW the advisor was saying he told me the froen would have been extra. Not what I was told originally, and btw the work order I signed had no pricing at all. Then when I get the job done at another dealer, for $400 less, they tell me there is no freon in the system. It should have been full because there were no leaks, just a clutch failure. So Freehold actually stole my freon! More
The worst ever dealership service, the charge you $200 (very expensive) for diagnostics that you have to pay if you decided not to fix your car there. They offer a shuttle bus, to take you to work after leaving your car there in the morning, which comes one hour later. Bill Marter is the service manager but he is useless. Carmen Semenza, his aggressive and rude service “advisor”, is the one who deals with any dispute or complaint from customers. They offer parts and labor at a very, very expensive prices. The service department is a rip off. The Buick Encore has problems with the membrane on the hatchback which cannot be fixed, but they keep trying to replace this part and that part, and since it's a diff has problems with the membrane on the hatchback which cannot be fixed, but they keep trying to replace this part and that part, and since it's a different part they keep trying, they won't cover the previous work done. So they continue to charge me for parts which they know will not fix the problem. Stay away from the Encore, and stay away from Freehold Buick! More
