I live in Puerto Rico and I saw a 2015, 4 door Ram 1500 at a very good price on True Car. When I called Gainesville Buick GMC, a salesman told me that although True Car said that there was a dealer discount, there is no discount. They were not flexible with the price, plus there is a $899 additional fee. I explained that I would be shipping the pick up to Puerto Rico, and that I would have to pay the shipping (around $1500) and the excise taxes (about $2600). I was told that others have been enquiring about that vehicle, so I would have to give at least $500 dollars to hold the vehicle. My brother who lives in Kissimmee was going to drive the two hours to Gainesville to check out the pick up, but now I'm doubtful that I'm going to ask him to drive all that distance. Being a Retired Army Veteran, I thought that I would be treated a little better. I was looking forward to the dealer discount and/or flexibility on the price. I spoke to another dealership for another make pick up (it was only an access cab) and they lowered the price by $1700.00 and told me that they would not charge me the taxes or registration since I was planning to ship the vehicle to Puerto Rico. Without any questions asked Al Hunter walked over and swiped his phone to pay for my candy. I have never seen anyone go above and beyond customer service the way these 2 people have done. Al even went as far as to try to get me into a new Acadia and he would have succeeded but i am in the middle of a move and did not want to over extend myself.
