After shopping many makes and models, she decided on a 2019 Honda CRV. We originally drove a few at Darrell Waltrip Honda in Franklin but decided that since we were moving to Gallatin that we would let the local dealer try to earn our business. Darrell Waltrip was already discounting their 2019 crv models $3000 off msrp so during my first conversation with Reed at Gallatin Honda was informed of this and also that Darrell Waltrip had the exact car in the color and trim my wife wanted. Reed said the he would beat Darrell Waltrip price by $500 and he would get us the car if we were willing to wait on him a couple of days. I agreed and Reed did a dealer trade and got us the car. I also informed Reed that we have had a couple of car dealers appraise her trade, including the Lexus dealer since she was also very interested in a 2019 UX200. They offered her $40000 for her 4Runner without hesitation. So I told Reed that he would have to meet the Lexus trade offer and he said he wouldn’t lose business over a trade. So everything is good up until the night we came to pick the car up. We went to the finance office when we got to the dealership at 7:30 and starting completing paperwork. I noticed that the price of the car on the paperwork was almost $500 more than what we agreed upon and after going outside and asking Sarah our salesperson about this.she told me that Reed had raised the selling price by that amount to cover the cost of the cargo tray and cargo cover(which Darrell Waltrip includes with the car). I told her that he was charging full of above retail for both items when we should have gotten a discount when we are purchasing a $34000 car from your dealership. Sarah calls Reed and tells him the situation and then hands the phone to me and I tell Reed my issue with the pricing of the items. Reed then tells me that he gave me more than what my car is worth on trade, he sold me his crv at $3500 off, and he wasn’t willing to lose any more money on the transaction so he had to make up some profit by charging full price for the accessories. His attitude was very uncaring and when I told him that he has plenty of Honda dealer competition he didn’t seem to care. So I told him that he was making a terrible first impression and I hung up the phone. I then told my wife about the issue. It took us almost two hours to finish paperwork that night and honestly I had bought a truck at Newton Nissan down the road in Gallatin a few months back and paperwork took me 15 minutes. So it seems that Reed at Gallatin Honda will regret having to be competitive with pricing to earn business to his new dealership that has only been open 3 weeks. Well... that’s ok. Honda will send us a survey and I will tell them about our experience, and then maybe their attitude will change. I’d advise anyone that buys a car here to stick to your number and don’t apologize for being for being a stern negotiator. Reed and the management needs to understand that they are selling Honda’s, not Ferrari’s. More

Solved my check engine light. He went out of his way to accommodate my schedule and needs, even to coming in on his day off to deliver my vehicle so wouldn’t have to wait an additional day!!! Joey, the sales manager, made the first contact with me when the dealership was about to open. He was prompt and courteous with each call. I might add patient with me. Even the never ending paper signing with finanace was enjoyable with Dallas Winstead. I highly recommend Richard, Joey and Dallas at Gallatin Honda. Next step is to test the service department. I know some of the service men from my previous Honda dealer and am looking forward to working with them again, but not too soon! Thank you all. I am really enjoying my new CRV. More
