I saw this car (2016 TOYOTA RAV4 HYBRID XLE) advertised on their website for $17,499. I made an appointment for a test drive after making sure that the vehicle was available for the test drive. So I went to the dealer and spoke with one of the salesman. He had me and my wife seated and asked for my phone and email etc. Once he got the vehicle info from me, he said 'ok, let me check'. Then he left us at the desk and came back saying this vehicle was on a test drive and we need to wait 10 minutes. We did. Then I asked about the status. Then he went check again, I saw him went out the door for a smoke. Then came back and told me that the vehicle was in the shop for maintenance. Meanwhile I was telling my wife that this vehicle was less expensive and this salesman won't make that much of money and told her not be surprised if we hear that this vehicle was unavailable, because this is the type of trick this types of dealers use to catch the customers and drive them to buy lot more expensive cars beyond their budget. So, we were not surprised. However, I called the manager and explained the situation. He told us that this was a miscommunication. I asked the manager, I made sure with your sales team three times before coming here, then, your sales person is lying. He said that was also a miscommunication. I then told the manager that if you as a manager know this was a miscommunication and let this go easily, this will not be good for your business. So, to all the future car buyers from this Garden City Mazda Dealer: This dealer advertises a very nice car for a good price and then will make you go there and then will tell you that the vehicle either on a test drive or in a repair shop. Then they will influence you to buy an expensive car purposefully in which they can make more money. DON'T GO TO THIS DEALER. More
