I wanted to take a moment to share feedback from my recent visit to Gardena Honda. When I arrived, I was greeted and assisted by Valerie. She was absolutely great—checked me in quickly, and was very kind, professional, and friendly. She made the process smooth and pleasant. When my service was complete, I returned to her, and again, she was super professional and provided me with my paperwork so I could check out with the cashiers. Unfortunately, my experience at the cashier station was not on par with the level of service I’ve consistently received at Gardena Honda. There were two ladies at the cashier desk, and I was the only customer waiting to be assisted. Neither acknowledged me at all. I gave it a minute, assuming they might be wrapping up a work-related conversation. However, after standing there for a couple of minutes, I realized their conversation was personal—one of them sounded super irritated and was venting to the other about a customer issue. At that point, I politely interrupted and asked if they could assist me. One of them apologized and proceeded to help me, while the other continued to stare at me with what felt like clear irritation the entire time. This was surprising and disappointing, especially since everyone at Gardena Honda has always been so professional and welcoming. I genuinely did not expect this experience. My salesman was pleasant to work with, Knowledgeable and personable. After some negotiating, I spoke with a floor manager who could definitely work on his customer service skills. A condescending tone isn’t the best thing to have with a customer. Also, I never discussed a down payment before meeting with the finance department, but someone, possibly a floor manager, put down a $2,000 down payment amount on my paperwork and the finance agent had to redo my paperwork because I was not leaving a down payment, I had a trade in instead. The redo didn’t take long, mostly inconvenient for the finance guy, and could have potentially messed with my approval, but I wasn’t worried about that. Why is anyone adding any amount in the first place when I never discussed a down payment? Anyway, my experience could have definitely been better, but it wasn’t horrible. Had a much better experience at a different Honda dealer, but the Gardena dealer is local and I always take my car to get serviced there. More
