Toxic Dealership — Dishonesty, Delays, and Zero Professional Leadership I contacted Gardena Honda this week to purchase a CPO 2024 Honda Odyssey Sport. This should have been the easiest sale ima Professional Leadership I contacted Gardena Honda this week to purchase a CPO 2024 Honda Odyssey Sport. This should have been the easiest sale imaginable. I have excellent credit (over 800), knew exactly which vehicle I wanted, and was prepared to purchase immediately. This should have been the dealership’s easiest sale of the month. Instead, I encountered dishonesty, slow-walking, and unprofessional behavior from both the salesperson, Ivan Flores, and General Manager Ryan Crenshaw, who never responded after I escalated my concerns directly to him. Here is what happened: 1. Price Bait-and-Switch The advertised price online was approximately $35,000. When numbers finally arrived nearly four hours later, the “vehicle price” was increased by roughly $2,000 and included a $1,900 add-on I had explicitly declined. This was never disclosed upfront and directly contradicted the published price. 2. Slow, evasive communication Ivan repeatedly delayed basic responses, ignored clear questions, and eventually sent pricing and financing numbers that were grossly inconsistent with the advertised listing. The APR quotes were far above what is typical for my credit tier, and nothing he sent reflected my instructions. 3. Boundary violations after escalation After I told Ivan to stop contacting me and to escalate the matter to management, he continued messaging me. I specifically requested communication from a Sales Manager or the General Manager. No manager ever contacted me by phone, text, or email. 4. No response from the General Manager I emailed General Manager Ryan Crenshaw directly, offered screenshots and gave a factual description of the bait-and-switch situation. I even stated that I was still open to making the purchase if they corrected the situation professionally. I received no reply. 5. A dealership culture problem Based on this experience, Gardena Honda appears to operate with unacceptable internal standards. I came in as an extremely qualified, ready-to-buy customer. This deal could have been completed in under two hours. Instead, the dealership’s dishonesty, lack of transparency, and complete absence of leadership engagement caused me to walk away. Future customers should know exactly who was involved: • Ivan Flores — misrepresented pricing and disregarded explicit communication boundaries. • Ryan Crenshaw (General Manager) — no response to a documented complaint or purchase-ready customer. I will be filing formal complaints with Honda Corporate and the California DMV regarding the pricing discrepancies and misleading sales practices. If this is how Gardena Honda handles a straightforward, same-day buyer with excellent credit and clear intent to purchase, I strongly caution anyone considering doing business here. More
Great service, professional and thorough because of Mike Garcia. Mike made me feel like my car and I were important to him and that all customers were important. Garcia. Mike made me feel like my car and I were important to him and that all customers were important. More
Employers are incredibly respectful and kind. They thoroughly review every aspect of the car’s maintenance and provide you with an estimated completion time, which they did.
