I had been looking at several dealerships before coming across Gateway. I was attracted to this dealer for the price of a 2021 Silverado. When I called the dealership to verify the vehicle was there and th across Gateway. I was attracted to this dealer for the price of a 2021 Silverado. When I called the dealership to verify the vehicle was there and that the internet price was accurate, Luis answered the phone and said "yes, it's here and the internet price was accurate." I said great and I would be done in 30 minutes and he had the truck ready to be seen. I thought that was pretty cool. After a test drive, we started the negotiations. We all know how dealerships go with this. In the middle of negotiating the price, they gave me a higher price and said the stock # was switch with another truck that was a lower trim level then the one I was trying to get. This made me really angry and I almost walked out. Then the sales manager came out and gave us a story about what happened which I said that it wasn't my fault and they need to honor the price we started to agree to before. Eventually we came to an agreement and I purchased the vehicle. The whole time I couldn't help but think if I got a good deal or bad deal because I felt like I got reeled in but the online price but if you qualify for 0% interest rates then they jack up the price of the vehicle even more. that was my only negative experience here. I loved that after you purchase a vehicle and before you drive off the lot, they do a walk through of the vehicle to ensure there are no scratches or anything. Unfortunately, I had a huge scratch on the dash but they gave me a form and said I would get a call on Monday to schedule a time to fix the scratch. Monday came, I did get a call, brought in the truck and they fixed the scratch on the spot. I was super pleased with this. The experience was long but overall pleasant. Our sales person Luis was super helpful and friendly and stayed 3 hours passed his shift to seal the deal. I would buy from gateway again and would recommend this dealership. I think everyone hate the negotiation part of buying a vehicle but I truly believe it can be painless process. More

Outside of 2 things that bothered us, the purchase and pickup service for our new vehicle was excellent as was the price we paid and the trade in for our Ford truck. The two things that bothered us were: 1. The salesman told us we could get whatever shade tint we wanted put on the truck. We were never asked what color tint we wanted and when the vehicle was turned over to us the tint had already been put on (we wanted a darker shade for the rear window). When I asked the salesman about this he said it could not be changed once put on or it would void the warranty. Not the answer I wanted. 2. We asked if the trailer brake controller on our trade in could be removed and given back to us so we could put it on the Silverado we were told it could be done. It was given back to us the next day in a box which I did not check for the contents. When I made an appointment a week later to have it installed on the Silverado at La Mesa RV it turned out the only items in the box were the controller cables and the mounting box, no controller. It cost me an additional $450 to purchase a new controller. More
