The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly My husband initiated this vehicle shopping exercise. He met a new salesman, Dakota. This young man was very professional and respectful. He was ver My husband initiated this vehicle shopping exercise. He met a new salesman, Dakota. This young man was very professional and respectful. He was very patient with us as we took time to check out several vehicles. We would highly recommend Dakota. We found the vehicle we wanted and negotiated the deal. Since the new vehicle (2015 GMC Sierra 1500) didn't have a FOB, Dakota worked it out that we would receive a FOB as part of the deal at no charge. Another aspect of the deal was taking my husband's custom wheels and tires off of the truck we were trading (2011 GMC Sierra 1500) and putting them on the truck we were purchasing at no charge. We brought the original wheels and tires from the 2011 so the dealership would have them - the day we purchased the 2015. We next worked with Maryann Higgins on all of the paperwork. She was a genuine person, very personable. She didn't use any hard tactics to sell extra products we didn't need. It was very enjoyable to work with her and we felt she was looking out for our best interest. I wouldn't hesitate to work with her again. We left Saturday feeling good about our purchase, the employees and the dealership. That was the GOOD... Now for the The Bad and The Ugly... It was late on a Saturday evening when we purchased the 2015 so we had to bring the vehicle back on Tuesday to get the wheels and tires swapped from the 2011 and to get the new FOB. Mic Thomas, Sales Manager, is there and proceeds to tell my husband that the tires on the original wheels of the 2011 are in bad shape. He can't sell a vehicle with those tires and demands we pay the $580 to replace the tires. He made my husband feel like he had lied about the condition of the tires - even though there was a Manager on-site Saturday AND the wheels/tires were available for inspection before we finalized the deal. My husband felt his honor was at stake and agreed to pay $350 towards the new tires. I wasn't present at this time. Later in the day we both went back to the dealership to pick up the 2015. Mic Thomas "greets" us by saying there aren't any sensors in those wheels and we need to pay an additional $100 to replace the sensors. I was outraged. I argued that we had made the deal - we had it in writing that we were swapping the wheels/tires. It wasn't our responsibility to inspect the tires and how would we know if there are sensors in the wheels??? I asked if he was willing to throw away an entire deal for $450 and he accused me of "holding a gun to his head"! Really???? I think it was the other way around Mr. Thomas. First you insult my husbands integrity and then brow beat us for $450? He agreed the dealership would pay the cost for new sensors but continued to tell my husband how he wasn't holding up his end of the agreement about the tires. He continued to question my husband's honesty and integrity until my husband handed over a check for $350. Mic Thomas is the epitome used car salesman you dread when shopping for a new vehicle. I would consider doing business with Gator again - IF Mic Thomas is no longer employed there. More
2014 RAV 4 I was looking for a used vehicle when I met JT Prapotnik , he casually walked up and ask did I need help. Since I knew the vehicle I wanted to see he took me to it. His knowledge of the vehicle and its features exceeded other dealerships by far. I never felt pressured and we drove the vehicle round. We talked about the vehicle and how I came to see it, he was sincere and open while never pushing me to buy. Once I decided on the vehicle we talked inside, JT brought me water and some cookies while we went over all the paperwork and explained any options I had. We even walked around and I looked at some high dollar cars and JT was extremely knowledgeable of different trim levels and power plants. I met the sales manager, Mic Thomas and talked over finance options and decided to settle. The next day I dropped off a rental and JT picked me up and brought me back to Gator Chrysler where we finalized the deal. Jt and Mic stayed with me the whole time and we chatted until the vehicle paperwork was done and I left. It was refreshing to meet JT, he was a top notch salesman and genuine good man. I will look at Gator for my next purchase and recommend talking to JT to anyone interested in purchasing a vehicle. Thanks again for a great car buying experience. Mike More

I was most impressed when after the sale she took the time to show me how to operate all the features to help me get familiar with the vehicle. Maryann Higgins, who handled the financing, was also awesome. I appreciated her low key style--she did not try and push a bunch of things I did not want to buy and found me a really cheap and long extended warranty. They also have a very nice coffee bar and the lady at the counter (can't remember her name) was very welcoming and personable and I enjoyed visiting with her. Lisa Foster More

Of course, I had hoped rot have a bit better reduction (what buyer wouldn't ?), but I felt I was treated fairly and was never pressured in any way whatsoever. We had our discussions and it was left up to me to make the decisions. I am happy with my purchase today and would recommend this dealership.
