Genesis Santa Monica has the worst customer service of any car dealership. Been trying to get them to complete DMV paperwork so I can get pink slip and license plate. This was by far the worst car-buying experience in my life. Everything that could be screwed up was screwed up. It's been two months and I still do not have what is needed to register the vehicle. We had life. Everything that could be screwed up was screwed up. It's been two months and I still do not have what is needed to register the vehicle. We had an agreement that they would pay for the 2-week expedited service. They did not. They did not remove the fingerprints of the previous driver and I have I do not have the authority to change certain settings as a result. They did not send the two keys so I could override the options. Every part of the transaction was delayed and often misrepresented. Jaime does NOT return calls. Read other review sites. The ratings are terrible. My local dealership is going to charge $500 for the needed key and I need to drop it off for a few days because there are other issues that were present immediately after purchase. More
The new Genesis building is small but beautiful. The pre-sales process was smooth and efficient, but then once I signed my paperwork, all things fell apart. They didn't do any training on my new vehicle, the parts dept was very slow and unresponsive, the GM had to get involved to get my paperwork processed, several escalations I made to get responses went nowhere, and I was fed lots of incorrect information about the process for buying out-of-state. They also pre-apply an exorbitant $2K for paint/leather protection, so you have no way to decline this $50 worth of product. More
