When I was younger, we bought older used cars & inevitably the transmission would go out & it was cheaper to buy another car than a transmission. A manual transmission rarely goes out & if it does, it's a much cheaper fix. If the battery dies, you can push the car & jump start by popping the clutch. Another plus is a couple of miles per gallon better gas mileage. If it was up to me, I would only buy a vehicle with manual window openers but they are a thing of the past also which to me is a very expensive option for very little convenience. When the window operation dies, it is VERY inconvenient. More
