Dan worked with the service department to have it installed before I picked up the car for delivery and at the price we initially negotiated. The paperwork process with Rene Payton was also friendly and no-pressure. A summary of my process follows. 1. Find the right make/model/features I researched makes/models using Consumer Reports, used the internet to compare prices of the make/model I selected (Subaru Forester), visited a local dealership to see the car, ask questions, and go for a test drive. I then decided what additional features I wanted. 2. Contact dealerships for availability/pricing I contacted dealers via their websites about specific models listed as available on their website. I then called the handful of dealers with availability to discuss actual pricing. 3. Select the right features at the right price from the right salesperson I told Bob I wanted to buy my car at the best price possible, but at the same time wanted to give my business to someone who was honest and trustworthy, unlike the other salespeople I was negotiating with at other dealerships. Bob went the extra mile to find the Forester I was looking for at a great price, and he made sure my car was ready for pickup after we worked out all the details via phone and email. I'm very happy with the overall level of service I received, and enthusiastically recommend Bob Shewalter and Gerald Subaru of North Aurora to others who are also looking for a pleasant car-buying experience. In my opinion, buying a used car is never an easy and pleasant endeavor. However, I was surprisingly at ease (for the most part) during the 2-3 hour I spent test driving, negotiating and signing at Gera pleasant endeavor.
