Will make false promises to fix things to make a sale! I cannot express enough the poor experience that I have had recently in dealing with these people. They are very good about taking your money, arranging financing, and handling the paperwork and the hassle of buying a vehicle. Beyond that, it has been an absolutely a poor experience. I cannot stress enough . . . STAY AWAY! I was told by the salesman that they would fix a couple of problems that I pointed out when I bought the vehicle, and that the service guy, would call me within a week to take care of the problems, they never called. They even filled out a form stating that they would fix these things. I had to go in and complain and even after having taken the vehicle in a couple of times, the problems still persist. Don't their stupid "mechanics" even notice that the problems persist? The vehicle has a number of issues that I have noticed since I bought it (Let the buyer beware!). I understand, given the terms of the sale, that those are my responsibility (unfortunately). I only ask that they fix what they said would fix, and they would never have to worry about seeing me again!!!! More

We purchased a truck from them on January 2, 2014. There were some things wrong with it at the time of purchase and they said they would fix them. The end of January they told me to bring it in after I had were some things wrong with it at the time of purchase and they said they would fix them. The end of January they told me to bring it in after I had to call them many times to get them to get them to schedule the appointment. They had my truck for 4 weeks and never fixed it. During this time I called them every week to get an update and they said they were trying to find the parts. Then after I got it back it was still not fixed. And to top that off, some how there was new damage to the back bumper and the fender by the bumper and paint was coming off with a dent. We went back to speak with them and they did not want to talk to us. The mechanic said they new that the part they put on it was a rear bent axle and they service manager said to put it on anyways. Thomas, the owner, would not get on the phone and talk to us about this. Whoever would answer the phone had some excuse on why he could not come to the phone. Here I am 3 months later and I am still in this truck that is broken. They keep saying that they are going to find me something else. But that has yet to happen. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I know of someone else who has purchased 2 vehicles from them and both of them had major issues and they would not fix them either. Not a good place to get a reliable vehicle. More

I had only bought cars from one guy that I trusted via a buy here pay here lot so it was scary for me to finance a used car. It was also hard for me not having much credit experience. Gold star was able to buy here pay here lot so it was scary for me to finance a used car. It was also hard for me not having much credit experience. Gold star was able to get financing for me at a reasonable rate (not having much credit) at a payment I could afford. I couldnt be happier with my Liberty AND they were willing to fix a few flaws on the car with no problems. I had gone to a few dealers prior to buying from Gold Star and was not very happy with the result but the customer service I received was excellent, they made me feel at home. More

straight rip off! greedy and will say anything to strike a deal and dont care about what you are comfortable with. they wont tell you the price of any car until you bring in bank stubs to see how much you a deal and dont care about what you are comfortable with. they wont tell you the price of any car until you bring in bank stubs to see how much you can afford. they arent fair and they are liars. this was the worst mistake ever buying from them they take advantage of people. the car we financed valued at 6500 on NADA and they financed is for 13000 and the interest rate brought it up 5000 more. so now were payin 18000 for a car worth maybe 8000 and we also payed 4500 for a down payment! they are crooks and only want your whats in your wallet. please i warn you that they are straight grimy and will screw you. I'm even pregnant n they still screwed me knowin i need money for my first child. they dont care theyre why the world is so messed up!! More

Terrible. The car we bought had SEVERAL expensive repair needs that showed up as soon as we took it in to get an oil change. One of these issues was supposedly fixed--and the repair was included in the sal needs that showed up as soon as we took it in to get an oil change. One of these issues was supposedly fixed--and the repair was included in the sale of the car--not once but TWICE by Gold Star. The mechanic that they hired--TWICE--did it absolutely incorrectly, with parts incorrectly installed for the make/model, and some repairs not even completed. When it broke a third time (in less than a year), Gold Star refused to pay for the repair. The owner was permanently "not available" (although he was in the building and likely owns a telephone), and sent his lackeys to insult and intimidate us when we tried to contact him regarding this matter. They do not return phone calls, do not respond to Better Business Bureau complaints, and seem to exist by taking advantage of people too who are desperate or ignorant enough not to check them out before hand. (That group included us, but NEVER AGAIN.) Finally, this is one of those places that claims to help people who would not otherwise (without their "help") be able to afford cars. We weren't in that situation--we paid good money for what should have been a quality car--but I hate to imagine what they would sell someone who couldn't shop around. Don't fall for their condescending pitch. If our experience is anything to go by, they are out to take advantage of anyone they can. More
