Patience is Key During my first car buying experience, I hopped from dealership to dealership just trying to find a salesman who I didn't feel disrespected by. All of them were full of unprofessional men who wasted a lot of my time and offered me horrible deals on horrible cars. So when it was time to purchase another car, I was less than enthused. My stress level spiked just thinking about going through the whole process again. I was referred to Mike Hall with Great Lakes Hyundai and arrived at 6pm on a Wednesday. The car I originally wanted had been sold moments before my arrival, and I had no clue what else I might want. Mike rode in about 5 different vehicles with me, listening to my needs and offering different vehicles at different price points. Two hours later and I still had not decided. I was ready to give up. Without being pushy, he took offered to take me to another lot where we finally found the ONE. It was the instant love I was waiting on! The paperwork process was informative yet speedy. I was celebrating in my new car before I knew it! Mike made this entire experience stress-free and I cannot thank him enough. More

Avoid, please read below before they get you taken! ABSOLUTELY AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP!!! While gone with the military, my wife had been looking for a Charcoal, Leather AWD 2.0 Turbo 2014 Santa Fe for her ABSOLUTELY AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP!!! While gone with the military, my wife had been looking for a Charcoal, Leather AWD 2.0 Turbo 2014 Santa Fe for her trips back to North Carolina in the winter. She found one online at Great Lakes Hyundai. We live 3.5 hours away from the dealership. Over a couple of days of phone/email dialog with Mike Hall, the salesman, we decided to make the trip. However numerous times it was made known we wanted AWD...The Santa Fe listed was advertised as AWD. I had Mike physically walk out and go over the car to ensure it was specifically what we wanted and in the condition described. Per the phone call, it was "in like new condition and exactly what we were looking for...and to come on out." It was priced average market value for an AWD! So my family packs up the kids and make the trip after the kids get out of school. Arriving nearly 9 p.m. It was nice, drove nice and seemed like what she expected. 2 months later she got it nearly stuck in sand in NC, and it was told to her it is front wheel drive. Her nor I am mechanics and did not know how you tell an ALL wheel drive from a Front wheel drive since it does not have a four wheel drive button or lever like in trucks. We called this factory dealership because we expected, paid for and need an AWD and this was not Bubba's backyard car lot. They have since removed the listing online. We typed in the VIN, and keyword AWD and our Santa Fe shows up on a Google search. When we shared this with the dealer to include the screenshot...... all we got was a voicemail saying the General Manager told the salesmen to inform us they are not responsible for inaccurate listings. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! THAT’S YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE... CHARGE ME FOR AN AWD CAR AND GIVE MY WIFE An FWD THEN SAY IT’S HER FAULT!!!!!! SO IT IS EXCEPTABLE TO CHARGE HER FOR FEATURES A CAR DOES NOT HAVE???? So when you go to McDonald's for fries, you paid for but are not in the bag…. Do they tell you that is your fault and should have read the fine print not all descriptions are accurate…GET REAL!!! Your employee even stated it was AWD several times! McDonald's will give you the fries and do what can be done to get you back on track. Great Lakes…We get to read the fine print. No how can we work on this matter, no what can we do..... Not a word of working with the customer other than should have read the fine print. Keep in mind we have the voice mail where even the salesman admitted he knew what we were looking for as well as he thought the car was AWD. If the dealership thinks it is an AWD then why would my wife crawl under the car to try and figure out if that is accurate. It has four wheel brakes, did she need to put it on a lift and ensure there were indeed four calipers, abs sensors, and brake lines running for each wheel. It was listed as having airbags....how does a customer verify it has them behind the wheel, on the dash, overhead, etc. You are a Hyundai dealership, and you cannot even identify what you are selling!!!! So Great Lakes Hyundai you find it ok to sell my wife a car for an AWD price, give her a lower valued FWD car and your remedy to helping resolve this is a voice mail from your salesman with a message from you coward GM saying "Should have read the fine print".... your fine screwing over my family like we didn't just trust you with $19,000 we work hard for... then know this issue is not going to go away for you. More
