I started by telling Hector that I was looking to rebuild credit and what range I was looking in. He immediately took me to cars that were in my range rather than trying to bump me up. The first car he showed me was the one I ended up being the most interested in. I said to him that it would look great with tinted windows. The tinted windows became part of the final deal. He also got the price down a bit from what was already a good deal. I felt like he did his best to taker care of my wants and needs. Its rare you can say that about a used car saleman:) Jose was very personable. By the time I get to the paperwork, I really just want to get through it and drive my new vehicle. He was good at getting through it relatively quickly. He got right down to what I wanted as far as further coverage for my car and he got my interest rate down by almost half. These guys rock! I applied for an auto loan via their website. The next morning I got a call from Larry. We went over my info and talked about what I was interested in. He got me approved very quickly. On the day of our appt to come in, Larry got us through all the paperwork and hoops that you have to jump through quickly. The whole process took only 2 1/2 hours. We found a car we wanted at Gresham Toyota. We live over 2 hours away. But we knew what we wanted, our down payment, and the payments we could afford. We told all this to the salesman Lonnie. He still did his best to get us into a brand-new car instead of the late-model Mitsubishi. Lonnie chattered constantly during the test drive, even when I asked for quiet so I could hear the engine. We filled out the credit app. Lonnie tried numerous times to get us to increase our 20% down payment or accept ridiculous interest. After 2 hours they agreed to our reasonable offer. TWO WEEKS LATER Lonnie said we'd have to negotiate again because the bank turned us down. Said that they never ran our credit. They should not have let us drive that car off the lot without checking our credit--oh, but wait. They did. It shows up on our credit report. We tried to work it out, but everyone at Gresham wsa flat-out rude. Bait-and-swtich, dishonesty, and zero regard for the customer. More
