Is this price gouging or bait and switch? I went in to Gresham Toyota on July 8, 2020 to purchase a Tacoma pickup. Jenny gave me a quote in writing on a truck that was in transit and would be I went in to Gresham Toyota on July 8, 2020 to purchase a Tacoma pickup. Jenny gave me a quote in writing on a truck that was in transit and would be there between 7/16 and 7/21. I was contacted on 7/15 that the truck was in and I could pick it up in the afternoon. I requested a total cost for the truck so I could write them a check and the price was $1800 more than the written quote. When I asked about the price increase, I was told “due to supply/demand, pricing and incentives have changed. I was told that every truck in transit was presold or reserved and it was going to be like that for the next 3-9 months. It was clear that if we wanted the truck, we would have to pay the additional $1800. Is that price gouging or bait and switch? More

Though other cars were being purchased, the waiting time for us was overly long, a situation easily fixed were the dealership to train a second finance manager to step in during peak sales times. And last, the tank was not filled when we drove the nearly-new car away, being but 1/4 full , and that, for us, was the first time a dealer failed to fill the car we'd purchased with gas. More
