We certainly regret not being able to earn Paul's business, but it's not for a lack of trying. The most pressing issues from our perspective were: - manufacturers incentives changing - lack of availability of vehicles - Dealer "stair step" programs that allow greater discounts to the dealer that stocks and sells more Volts. We first engaged with Paul in September when he showed interest in a promotion on the Volt that he heard about on the Internet. He and his wife visited the dealership in Early October. They drove the Volt and liked the car. By this time, the lease incentive program on Volt that had piqued his interest had ended. We continued to communicate with Paul as he worked with our sales associate trying to find a vehicle with a balance of equipment and price that would fit the family's needs. In the meantime, Chevrolet announced a new program on the Volt and the deals improved again. This time the offer was a combination of cash discount on a purchase, 0% financing and dealer "stair step" program allowing for total discounts of up to $5000. Through this period of time, we had a very limited availability of Volts, and we were unable to procure one with the right equipment & color for Paul. Apparently he got frustrated and went to another dealer for the car. We appreciate the fact that Paul and his wife took time to shop our dealership.
