couldn't believe it was that painless and easy After buying a new Jeep from my local dealer, I wanted a Mopar remote start installed. The local dealer quoted 630.00 for parts and labor. The labor was quoted for 5 hours at 55.00 an hour, and the part made up the rest. On a co workers advice I emailed Bob Schwartz service for a quote. Now, one would think that two dealerships within 20 miles of each other would return similar quotes. One would be wrong, Bob Schwartz number came in at 336.72. There was such a discrepancy that promptly call to verify that they knew what I was asking for and that a typo had not occurred. Daniel from the service dept took time to throughly explain what I was getting and broke the cost down in parts and labor. I guess the dealerships are not working from the same book, as Daniels book lists the install at a 3 hour job and not the 5 hours my local dealer was charging. He assured me that no matter how long it actually took, I would be paying for no more then 3 hours at less then 35.00 per hour. The same part was even 25.00 cheaper. I know what you're thinking, because I was thinking the same thing. The local dealer that I had just purchased the new Jeep from had surly made a mistake. I stopped by my local dealer to ask about the difference, and express my desire to stay local. Not only could she not explain the extra two hours labor, she simply told me she couldn't come close to Bob Schwartz price. . When I entered Bob Schwartz service for my appointment, I was greeted promptly and professionally, and was in and out quickly at both drop of and pick up. The price was what they said it would be and for the first time ever I left a Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep service dept feeling good about my visit. Those guys did a great job, and have earned my business.
