I experienced some issues with a recent maintenance service on my vehicle. However, after I contacted the service director (Heather) she kindly helped resolve my concerns to my satisfaction. I apprecia service on my vehicle. However, after I contacted the service director (Heather) she kindly helped resolve my concerns to my satisfaction. I appreciate her prompt response and assistance. At other dealers I have dealt with, service directors are not as responsive, difficult to contact, and could care less about a customer’s dissatisfaction with the vehicle service provided. I purchased a used 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe from Group 1 Hyundai Southwest Houston less than six months ago. Recently, the vehicle suffered a major transmission failure that left it inoperable. From the first day of service, I explained that I am a teacher with a mandatory commute and no transportation. I requested loaner or rental assistance and communicated my hardship to multiple staff members as well as Hyundai Consumer Affairs. During the service process: • My vehicle sat awaiting diagnosis due to staffing delays. • I was informed the assigned technician became ill and the vehicle had to be reassigned. • These delays were internal and outside of my control. • Despite early communication, management later denied knowledge of my transportation hardship and refused assistance. Because no assistance was provided, I incurred over $1,400 in rental expenses just to maintain my commute. The inspection confirmed internal transmission failure requiring a $4,500+ replacement, despite the vehicle being otherwise well maintained. Given that this catastrophic failure occurred less than six months after purchase, I expected accountability, communication, and reasonable customer support. I remained cooperative, approved diagnostics, and followed all procedures. I am simply seeking fair treatment and a reasonable resolution. — Dominique Joiner More
