Car needed new engine. Picked up car when I was told it was ready. When my car was brought out to me, there were parts in the back seat that belonged under the hood. On my way home, the battery alert came on and then the power steering light came on. I barely made it home. I’m guessing that they didn’t run a diagnostic test to make sure everything was working correctly. So far they have had my car for about a month and now they say that the old alternator “broke” the battery. So far I have paid $8,000. And they want another $400 dollars. My battery is still under warranty for another year. I had the battery checked by the service that installed the battery previously and their test equipment shows the alternator is draining the battery not charging it. And their test equipment alternator is only putting out 11.3 volts and is not capable of charging the battery. Which means that the replacement battery will soon be malfunctioning. When my husband went in to speak with the service writer, he didn’t seem to want to listen to what we had to say. I am not happy. More
