An exceptional service advisor who REALLY cares! In my opinion Matthew Stanford is a huge asset to Hall Honda's service dept. in Va. Beach. I found him to be everything a service advisor should be, In my opinion Matthew Stanford is a huge asset to Hall Honda's service dept. in Va. Beach. I found him to be everything a service advisor should be, and then some. I took my Odyssey in for servicing to ensure it would be in good working order to drive on a upcoming road trip since I had noticed some oil spots under my car when parked. As it turned out, my car needed substantial work which included ordering parts that would slow down the process and warrant my being w/o my car for several days. This created a real problem for me because my father has stage 4 lung cancer and had been having life threatening complications, so I was planning to take my college daughters for a very much needed trip to see their grandfather during their Christmas break. Matthew showed great compassion and empathy for my circumstances. Without any hesitation he said that he did not want the work my car needed to deter me from getting my family to see my father. He said he was going to see if he could give me a dealership loaner car that was comparable to the Odyssey I owned because he wanted me to have the same spacious car for the road trip I was used to driving. When he couldn't find an Odyssey at the dealership to loan me he contacted a local rental car agency to find an Odyssey, at no cost to me, none the less. Since there was not one available there either Matthew resorted to getting a different loaner car from the dealership. Now it would be generous enough that he went to such lengths to offer me a loaner car but he went the extra mile, thoughtfully asking me to look at the room it had and if I would feel comfortable driving it for my trip. The car he offered me was wonderful but it had not been cleaned inside so Matthew offered to take it around back of the dealership and proceeded to wipe down and vacuum the inside himself, so "it would feel and look nice for the trip." Then, I had to unfortunately explain to him that I would need the loaner for an undetermined timespan since my trip was taking me quite a distance out of state and I had no idea what the medical condition of my father would be once I arrived. Once again, Matthew kindly said, "No Worries, stay as long as you need," and told me I just needed to make the trip as we had planned. (I realize this is a lot of detail to share and quite the lengthy review but I want readers AND Honda to understand the great lengths this gentleman went to, to accommodate me on so many levels.) In addition, I really appreciate the patience he showed and time he spent trying to educate me regarding the work my car needed when I took it in. When I was told my car had several places oil was leaking from, he could tell I was in disbelief. So once again, as part of his superior effort, he said, "Come on. Follow me. I want to show you something." He led me out to the garage and under my raised car where he took his fingers to touch 4 places and show me where oil was leaking from and explained why it was imperative to have them fixed. I've returned to this dealership and Matthew for my service needs since the above circumstances and had the same great service repeated. I was still seeing indications of oil leaking from under my car but this dealership, Matthew Stanford, and his supervisor stood behind their work and stayed committed to resolving the issues. In addition, after picking up my van and returning the dealership's loaner car I received a call from them to let me know I had left my personal garage door opener in the loaner. Are you ready for this?? The dealership offered to have their shuttle driver drop off/return it to me at my home, "so I would not be inconvenienced." Now THAT'S customer service I really appreciate. Matthew Stanford, THANK YOU for taking such good care of all my car needs and making the process as comfortable as possible for me! Honda is mighty fortunate to have you on their team! More

Matthew was AMAZING to work with! I took my 2017 Honda Pilot Elite in for service for issues related to accident the vehicle had been involved in. I used an outside body shop instead of Hall's body shop (that won't happen again) and they didn't do everything correctly. Matt and the techs on his team were AMAZING! They troubleshot my vehicle, diagnosed it, repaired it and restored it to its pre-accident state. Matt kept me informed through out the entire process. He even submitted the supplement costs to USAA so that the insurance would pay for the repairs. The best part of my service experience is that I thought my engagement ring had been stolen when my vehicle was stolen and wrecked. Imagine my surprise when I picked up my vehicle from the service department and saw my $15,000 engagement ring in the drink holder!!! Not only were Matt and his team good at repairing my vehicle, they obviously have integrity and honesty. I am so grateful to them for restoring my vehicle and finding my ring. I would highly recommend Hall Honda to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle (this was my second purchase from Hall) and anyone needing to service their vehicle. Thank you Matt for a job well done! A deal we could not refuse! After picking up our Honda Odyssey from a repair (Adam there helped save us a lot of money by checking our warranty and recommending some other repair After picking up our Honda Odyssey from a repair (Adam there helped save us a lot of money by checking our warranty and recommending some other repairs due to a leaking timing belt tensioner), we mentioned that we might want to trade our Odyssey for a Pilot. Honda "miraculously" called us later saying that our model was in demand for a used car and that if we were interested in a Pilot, they would make a deal we could not refuse. We went in a bit skeptical, but Ken did fight for a great deal for us saving us thousands! It was a whirlwind but we did end up purchasing a new 2017 Pilot and we are ecstatic. The buying process is still pretty rough since it takes some time for all of the paperwork, but we left very happy with our purchase. It was sad to see our old car go, but Ken did give us an offer we could not refuse. Thank you Hall Honda - we bought from Ian just under a year ago and now we bought another when we were not even planning on it. Another satisfied customer! More
