To say we have been very pleased with our new Telluride purchase is an understatement! I just brought it in for its first oil change and was told it had a software upgrade coming. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this dealership’s service department. I brought my vehicle to Happy Kia on April 2 for a scheduled oil change and tire rotation. The tire rotation was dealership’s service department. I brought my vehicle to Happy Kia on April 2 for a scheduled oil change and tire rotation. The tire rotation was not performed due to tread depth, but I did approve a cabin air filter replacement. When I left the dealership, I immediately noticed my AC was blowing warm air. I drove less than a mile to a nearby Walmart, and the AC was still not working. I called the dealership right away and returned. My mileage leaving and returning was identical. My service advisor, Cody Labby, acknowledged that the AC was working when I brought the vehicle in. After inspecting the vehicle, I was told that a rock had supposedly struck the AC condenser and caused the refrigerant and oil to leak out. However, no diagnostic test results, written inspection report, or physical evidence were provided to support that conclusion. What was most frustrating was the handling of the situation. When I asked questions about how the diagnosis was made and whether any leak detection testing had been performed, I did not receive clear answers. I was also shown what was described as the leak point, but independent mechanics later pointed to a different area of damage and questioned whether the damage was consistent with a rock strike. The dealership then quoted approximately $3,000 for repairs, while independent mechanics estimated the repair at a fraction of that cost. In my view, dealerships do not provide “free oil changes for life” without recovering those costs somewhere. Based the unsupported diagnosis, the timing of the failure, the repair estimate, and the lack of follow-through, and aggressiveness I was met with when questioning everything, I believe Happy Kia is making up for those free oil changes through shady and unethical practices. I contacted the GM and GSM, Chris and Mike Zamorsky, on April 4 and was promised a return call on April 6. Despite multiple follow-up attempts, I never received a response. I also filed a complaint with Kia Customer Care and other regulatory entities. Since the incident, I have received no meaningful communication from the dealership. I also understand that a sister dealership in Louisiana operates under the same ownership, and I have made attempts to contact both the GM and the owner regarding this matter and got nothing. More
