I recently moved to the Indianapolis area and wanted to trade in my 2012 Silverado that only had 15000 miles on it. I live close to this dealership and started communication with the salesman Darrel Lee. At our initial meeting we could not meet my payment parameters and I thanked him for his time and left. The next day he called me and wanted to re-negotiate the purchase deal. I had explained that I still wanted splash guards and running boards in the deal so I stated, I do not believe we can make it work. He said the splash guards could be worked out. I asked if the running boards on my trade in would work. His response was he would find out and call me back. He called back and said they would work. I committed to the deal at that point. When I took delivery of the vehicle it was closing time and I was turned over to the salesman's young assistant Melissa Barnhardt, I was rushed to clean out my trade in, I and did not get a full delivery or understanding of how all the new equipment worked in the new fully loaded LTZ Silverado. She told me when I came in to get the splash guards and running boards installed she would spend more time a do a complete delivery When it was complete I noticed the running boards did not extend more than a couple of inches beyond the door sill. It was hardly enough room for my foot and mentioned that to the assistant but was told that is how they fit. I left thinking about it and was not comfortable. I went in the next day and talked to the salesman to explain that I did not agree that the running boards do not fit properly. He began to tell me that he done me a favor. I stated that he did not do me a favor, he sold a vehicle and I purchased a vehicle. I went to Bob Goodman and explained the situation. He agreed with me and decided to get the correct running boards and install them for me. We made an appointment to do so. The dealership called me and instructed me to contact a local installer close to the dealership and they were going to install them on the truck. I made the call and found out the parts were not GM parts. They were some off brand, not GM certified accessories. I bought a $50,000.00 Chevy Truck and that is there solution to their problem. I called the dealership back when I found this out. They relented and made another appointment to put on GM accessory running boards. They said it would take about an hour and one half to do the installation. I need to back up.... during the night when I drove the truck off the lot, it was closing time....I had left my tie downs on the bed rails of the truck, I forgot all about them. When I went back to get the splash guards installed they had been removed. The truck was parked behind the building and not on the sale lot. I explained that I wanted them and had forgotten them in a rush. The sales man basically said to bad. I again talked with Bob Goodman on the phone; he said he would order some and have them mailed to me. When I went to the 9:30 AM appointment to get the GM running boards installed, two hours later Mellisa Barnhardt told me be it would about two or more hours because they were really busy. I asked her, what about the appointment time they had made for me. I did not really get a good answer except they would supply a rental car. I did not see the point in that so I said I would wait. After a while I went to the service department and said that I would take the running boards with me and have someone install them elsewhere. What service told me was they did not order the correct part and had to send a driver almost to the Illinois border to get the correct running boards. Melissa Barnhardt lied to me, I confronted her about it and she danced around the issue with more lies. I waited until the parts arrived and installed, service said everything was complete, I asked if there was any paperwork, they said no and you are ready to go. I explained that I was going to pay for the installation of the running boards but again was told it was all taken care of. Before I left I talked to parts about the tie downs that were supposed to be shipped to me. They did not have an answer and took all my information down and would have someone get back to me. I never got a response; I made several attempts to find out information but got nowhere. In the meantime I received a letter dated 12/23/13 from Chevrolet offering $1000.00 in accessories free of charge, I assumed it was for all that had taken place between 12/10/13 when I took possession and when all the promised work had been completed. I went in to get the accessories and was told that the letter was to cover the running boards. I asked Bob Goodman about the tie downs, he said I did not pay for the running board installation. I explained what service had told me, that there was no paper work and that it was all taken care of. He then made a statement regarding my integrity that I was not a man of my word. I am a 58 years old professional person; I have worked my way through life always wanting to do right to people and would expect the same from others. I have always worked hard earning a living and always pay my personal debts and follow through with any commitments I make personally or in business. My clients are always satisfied. When I have made mistakes I demand of myself to take care of the situation. I believe most folks have this approach in life. I would have expected that the people, who represent a longstanding family name in the community as Hare, would have employees represent them in such a manor, or have the owners exposed to the experience of reading of my dilemma on the internet. I would have expected much better. I would have thought the letter from Chevrolet regarding the accessories would have been honored instead of being spun around by incompetent people trying to cover their butts. I received a call today from Melissa Barnhardt confronting me about a survey I gave saying that she disagreed; I told her how I felt and was done with Hare and would not purchase another vehicle again. If promises were to be fulfilled I would be inclined to write about that also. Rick Jackson More

I was really undecided about purchasing a used vehicle and a friend recommended I contact Rufus before I made any in putting me the perfect vehicle. I was really undecided about purchasing a used vehicle and a friend recommended I contact Rufus before I made any decision. I am glad I did. The very first selection he had me test drive, a 2012 Nissan Rogue, turned out to the perfect vehicle for my needs. Not only was he very knowledgable, but he exhibited professionalism, courtesy and friendliness that made the process very stress free and enjoyable. Rufus is an extension of a great dealership. At Hare Chevrolet I was introduced a staff of warm, friendly people who were genuinely concerned about my welfare. In fact, if I were running an auto delaership I wouold run it like Hare Chevrolet. Even though I have a puchased a vehicle, I get excited whenever I see a Hare Chevrolet commercial and think to myself....That's my delalership! They have made a customer for life!! More

In the last 8 months I purchased a 2005 corvette and 2007 tahoe and both purchases were a very pleasurable experience. Lucas Duran made both purchases very simple and straight forward. The staff is very nice and courteous. I would definitely recommend Hare for your automotive needs. I also must say Travis Fuchs in service is the best in the industry. Definitely a happy customer. I purchased my first vehicle from Hubler Chevrolet in Rushville, IN, and came away with a pretty terrible experience. They lied multiple times, they were very pushy, and they tried to slip $2500 into the Rushville, IN, and came away with a pretty terrible experience. They lied multiple times, they were very pushy, and they tried to slip $2500 into the contract that I'd have had to pay if I hadn't been reading it line by line. Hare Chevrolet, conversely, treated me pretty well. I feel like I got a good deal monetarily, but more than that I appreciate how much they worked with me to help ease my concerns. They let me take it out for two separate test drives, one overnight. They let me get it checked out by an independent mechanic. Though really by "they" I mean Jon Ugen, who had a lot of patience deal with all of my concerns and questions. I'd recommend him, and Hare, any day. Also they have popcorn in the waiting area, which is nice. More
