The Best Sales force! Since I began purchasing vehicles when I was 18 (Triumph Spitfire), I've had to engage an aggressive sales force each time I stepped into a show room. Since I began purchasing vehicles when I was 18 (Triumph Spitfire), I've had to engage an aggressive sales force each time I stepped into a show room. When I bought my Santa Fe in August of 2018, I felt I was going to have to put up my defenses and prepare for a battle. It was not the case and Aaron Crawford made the difference. We just leased another vehicle from Haselwood Hyundai/Volkswagen. A 2019 Kona Se for a 36 month term. Again, I had Aaron Crawford as a salesperson and he was fantastic! He was patient and listened to what we were looking for and was very flexible when we changed our minds. He was very honest and I believe we walked...drove...away with a most excellent lease deal. Aaron is quick to explain the details of the deal and his knowledge of the vehicles, both the Santa Fe and the Kona, is intricate and he knows the feature most likely to grab our attention and he explained their function and operation until we understood. Aaron is patient and gentlemanly. The dealership manager was very patient and the financial officer was great to us that day as well. All around it was a non-aggressive, patient, detailed negotiation. It took a long time, but I have never bought or leased a vehicle from a dealer in any time less than 5 hours. The sales force team was most excellent and I had a most excellent day at the Haselwood Hyundai/Volkswagen dealership. More
Financing Disaster Everything was great with DeAnna, Lora, and Nate. I signed the initial paperwork with the delineated price breakdown and was then escorted back to the Everything was great with DeAnna, Lora, and Nate. I signed the initial paperwork with the delineated price breakdown and was then escorted back to the Financing Department to meet with Amanda Doidge. That is when things went south. She tried to upsale warranties/maintenance agreements despite REPEATED No's. As a first time car buyer, I also felt that she tried to deliberately confuse me and made condescending comments in an effort to upsale these warranties/maintenance options. Additionally, after agreeing upon the price breakdown for my vehicle with the salesperson Nate, I was informed by Amanda that my licensing fee "would be a few dollars different" since I lived in a different county than the dealership. This "few dollars" actually ended up being a couple hundred dollars. The lack of transparency on something so simple was just an added bonus to Amanda's shady and unprofessional demeanor. When asked more about the differences in price breakdowns I had received, she responded by going into the other room to complain loudly enough for me to hear to her coworker. After being there for almost four hours and being pre-approved to finance through my bank, Amanda informed me that I couldn't take home my car unless I financed through Capital One. When I repeatedly stated that I did not wish to finance through them, she stated that Capital One could be used as a "back up plan" should the check from my bank not be received. If my bank did send a check, she explained, the dealership could easily cancel the Capital One payment. I left after an absolutely miserable experience that didn't end there. Several days later, I received a phone call from Amanda stating that they had lost my $5,000 check for my downpayment. Days after this, I was informed that checks were received from both my bank and Capital One and that I would have to make numerous phone calls to get it sorted out myself - not the easy cancellation process Amanda had indicated the dealership would handle - particularly when the dealership had not one, but two checks for my car. Only after speaking to the manager Diante (who was great and very professional) was the situation handled. Definitely not the enjoyable first time car buying experience I was hoping for. The Costco portion of the car buying process was handled wonderfully. However, I recommend that this particular dealership not be included in the Costco network if this is how they treat customers. More

West Hills Trip I had a great time today at West Hills Auto Plex today. I brought my old beat up wreck of a truck to trade in and begged them to please just take it I had a great time today at West Hills Auto Plex today. I brought my old beat up wreck of a truck to trade in and begged them to please just take it off my hands. I would have paid them to take it, but they were nice enough to pay me $100 for it. Also, I was paired up with a great guy named Aaron who turned out to be a navy guy like myself. We had some laughs about my trade in and some great conversation about both of our careers in the delivery industry. In short, these were great folks, they stayed open for me after closing, with no complaints. And I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with them through the process. Thanks a bunch! I now have a truck with a speedometer and odometer. More
