Dishonest and Unresponsive I've bought 3 MOPAR Vehicles at three different dealerships in the past few years. The first two were fairly good experiences. However, my third purch I've bought 3 MOPAR Vehicles at three different dealerships in the past few years. The first two were fairly good experiences. However, my third purchase at Hemet CDJR is the most disgusted I've ever been with any transaction. I saw a truck online that brought me in on a very rainy day since I already had looked at the window sticker online and emailed about the price I didn't spend much examining the widow sticker when I arrived. I took it for a quick test drive and then started negotiations on the vehicle. After we discussed which rebates I was eligible and got a base price on the vehicle of about $27000 I was very happy with the deal I was getting. However, when they came back with an outrageous monthly payment of around $700 for 60mos this after I offered to put $6000 down, something was very wrong and I caught it right away. Knowing my credit and how much I was putting down I was expecting a payment in the mid to high $400 range after taxes and what not. This is when I found out that this price included GAP insurance and had included $3900 + of worthless dealer options such as an alarm, gps tracking, and a paint and fabric warranty. I said I did not want or need any of these items nor does there value rise to anywhere near $3,900. They stated that these items are installed or come on all there vehicles and cannot be removed. As I still saw value in the price I was getting on the truck I stupidly stayed and tried to at the very least negotiate down the dealer options. They try to get you to focus on the monthly payment and try to jam is much as they can into. While I repeatedly wanted to focus on the price of car in total. If you say I can spend $400 a month they will come out with $400 payment filled with all the things I mentioned and more, only thing is it will be $400 a month for 84months. I eventually got a payment in my range, about $480 for 60 months and they dropped the dealer added accessories by about 2K (or so I thought). When I sat down to finish the deal with finance I noticed the gps charge was still there it was supposed to have been removed and they did after I pointed it out. Here is where I should have walked but took them at there word it was a mistake. The finance paperwork and contract were all done electronically which made it difficult to really see the the contract in its totality, you could also not look back over it as you could if it was a paper contract, they also controlled what you saw at any given time, you could not sit there and take your time reviewing everything. When you are done they give you a flash drive with your paperwork. It was not until I got home and was able to look over my paper work I found another charge for $595 labeled "Cash Value of Accessories." I had no idea what this was, the alarm was clearly listed as was the paint and interior warranty. I spent 3 days calling, leaving messages just to find out what this charge was. I would be bounced around from person to person every-time I called, twice I left a message with someone who said they would find out and have someone call me. I never received a call. I again call and talk to a person and finance they tell me the $595 charge was for Nitro Fill in the tires. Yes a gas that makes up 78% of our atmosphere is nearly $600 when put in your tires. No one ever discussed this charge with me and the most I can find any tire shop charging for nitrogen service is about $100 which still seems absurd. I have since tried to reach out to the general manager to discuss my concerns that was two days ago with no response. I showed up at the dealership yesterday to speak to a person in finance they offered me a measly $150 credit at there parts store to make things right - this is a joke if they are charging $600 for air just imagine how far $150 credit would go towards dealer accessories. They refused to reopen the contract, I instead canceled an extended warranty with them to claw back $1900 as this was the only thing I could take back under California Law. Lastly of the dealer options I did accept no one has given me any paperwork on how they work or what is included. As an example, I've talked to 4 different people about the paint and interior warranty called "Finishing Touch". One said the service was already on the car, the second one said someone would call me to apply the products after purchase, the third said its on there but I can get a second coat if I want, and the fourth said and I quote "its like detailing service you can get it done every six months." Do not use this dealership unless you want to be pay for outrageous dealer installed options and services. Keep this in mind they charge $600 for the nitrogen air they put in all the cars on the lot this should be enough to never do business there. Once you buy the car they will ignore you if you have any questions. I reached out to the GM and got no response. Every employee has a different explanation as to the what the function of the various dealer options and services are, and they give you nothing in writing about those options and services. Again do not make the mistake I did. Run away from this dealership as fast as you can. More
