I searched the Internet for a Honda truck and found one on the price range I wanted. Drove down to Hendrick Honda in Bradenton (just under an hour and arrived at about 12:00 noon) to talk about the vehicl on the price range I wanted. I had called as well as email to set up an appointment as I had been in communication with and had received a call from them regarding setting up an appointment since this was my day off but never received a call back to verify I was driving down. (first red flag). When I arrived I happen to get there just as Mike King got in to work which happen to be whom I was looking for. He is an asset to Hendricks and if it wasn't for him this review would be much worse. They have several dealerships throughout the U.S. And a couple of the trucks I found were not on the lot. We did drive on but it lacked the 4 doors I needed so we proceeded to the Internet where I found a couple of Ridgelines that would work. Of course now I was handed over to another (Scott) who does the second portion of the dealing and checking so after another hour or so we were agreeing on a deal then I was handed over to another guy (can't remember his name at this point) and as well as the 3rd person being involved we also had to get the vehicle here from KS. That's another situation. All the while Mike was very professional and kept me there and comfortable while I was being passed from one to another. Finally after 3 hours I was sent with Luis to do the paperwork. This was after the credit check and the usual information was given of work and banking. I at that moment told Mike that this is the place I dreaded due to the pressure to BUY in to the expensive protection plans. I wasn't wrong. As soon as Luis got the paperwork started and had once again gotten my info.. The "dance" started. I stopped him and told him that I wasn't interested in any of the plans but he continued. You see you work very hard to get a good payment which is affordable and you are comfortable with and then you get with these guys and they put the screws to you to increase your payments another $30-50 a month which increase the package thusands of dollars. So then he kept on with the pressure of all the options of Gap and the long list of plans and once again I said I wasn't interested and he continued to the other less expensive plans.... I told him I had a plan with someone that would give me a discount on the work I would have done and then he wanted to know who it was and I refused so he kept asking and then sai he'd be interested to knowwho. Finally after the pressure I added gap insurance which added only $5.to my payment. Finally I signed and was "released". 4 hours later I was free to go and exhausted and rove back up to St Pete. I was told by Scott that he would keep in touch with me about the transfer of the truck to them and it could take up to a week. Well 5 or so days I hadn't heard a word from Scott so i called Mike and he jumped right on it (Wed) and tried to find out something. He couldnt find anyone who could help so I just had to wait. 9 days out Mike called and said the car was in and would be ready for me Friday. I drove down and arrived @ 11a.m. The truck looked very nice and was in good condition. Upon examining. I noticed the truck hadn't had a total clean so Mike had to take it to the back and vacuum it out. He said they had changed the time he had requested for the detailing. So I got in to drive the car and the gas gas was near empty. I said "really Mike?". This dealership is so cheap they don't even give a tank of gas and you know I live about an hour away and I'll have to make my first stop to a gas station??? He put 6 gallons in the tank!!! I drove off disappointed in the experience... 2 weeks later, I get a call from Luis telling me I have to go join some "School Credit union" which I have never heard of. I said I don't know what you are talking about nor do I want to run around to find this place 2 weeks out. We had a discussion about it and he said he was told I was a member. I said by who??? By one of the guys... Clearly they knew what credit union I was a member of due to my work. He is sending some paperwork that I now have to fill out. What a fiasco . Except for Mike King......... I am surely questioning my decision to work with these people. Sometimes they get too big and miss the customer SERVICE aspect of thei company. Oh and I was sent a (probably computer generated) email from a manager asking about the experience which I used to also complain about a lack of communication and never did hear from anyone except to verify the vehicle arrived"..... I purchased the vehicle that I wanted for the price I wanted. That says it all. The process was quick and easy. Mike is awesome! A sales associate that is helpful, friendly and not pushy, qualities that I find quite appealing. This is not the first time I have done business with him and will not be the last. I was looking to buy a low priced car after a bad auto acciednt. I didnt have much time and wanted to just talk about car options that would work for my budget. It was a very hot day and i was greeted by Saad Hanna with a cold bottle of water for me. I sat with Saad and told him i just wished to explore my options. His knowledge was great, he talked with me about needs, budgets, and the Hendrick way. After some discussion he came up with several great options. He was upfront about pricing and reliability and he walked the hot lot with me allowing me to test drive each vehicle. In no time Saad had provided me with every confidence in my choices. I fell in love with a beautiful low mileage 2010 Galant. The price was right and he found a payment schedule that fit my budget. Once the deal was struck Rodney miles walked me thorugh the lending process, origionally i was quoted 7.9% becuase of middle of the road credit, however Rodney fought to get it down to 5.9% I was ok with this amount and took the deal. I was leaving the dealership with keys in hand when Rodney stopped me and asked for a few more minutes of my time. I enjoyed meeting him and said ofcourse. He sat me down and printed up a new contract, he had found a bank for me that would make the loan at 3.5%. I never expected it. Both these gentlmen were friendly, knowladgable, kind, and helpful. All my questions were answered and i enjoyed meeting both of these great men. The rest of the staff was freindly and i felt unpressured and relaxed. I walked away happy and highly recommend you stop by and say hi to Saad. More
I had a great experience at Hendricks Honda cars of Bradenton. I was expecting a bunch of BS but everyone was very friendly and made my experience a good one. I was there to service my current my current 2010 Honda Fit. I had bought it used and my warranty was about up. I spoke with Richard and he introduced me to my raspberry beauty..I love the Fit. It is a great car, had loads of room and looks cool. Besides all that it is a great deal. It gets great gas millage, as I drive 30 miles to and from work. I was too anxious about purchasing a new car after a car accident and failed to recognize that the car I test drove and thought I had purchased was not the one given to me drive off the lot. The car I was given, after 8hrs at the dealership, has manual seats. This does matter to me. Additionally, there were errors in the amounts charged. I brought this to the attention of the General Manager, Gregory Schenk and Sales Manager, Mark Russel but they did not resolve the problems. I would hope that I would have been more cautious if I hadn't been effected by the car accident I had experienced. I would never buy a car from this dealership again. More
