This was the first service with our new van. I called and made an appointment. When I arrived I was told the oil change would be an hour and twenty minutes. For a simple oil change. It was 2 hours. and made an appointment. When I arrived I was told the oil change would be an hour and twenty minutes. For a simple oil change. It was 2 hours. I saw the sales person we bought the van from and he had to go find out what was taking so long. I didn't like the add on service sale. This is a brand new van. They wanted to sell me wheel locks or nitrogen in the tires. On top of it all its frustrating to get in your vehicle and spend minutes to readjust the seat and and digital display. I would not have expected this from this dealership. The service techs do not reflect a professional appearance. Unfortunately the great sales experience we had there has now been tarnished by the lack luster service. More
This is my 4th service call to Herb Gordon Nissan in Silver Spring. In each visit I have used the same technician, Jose Cruz, and his team and I have always felt that I am dealing with people who no Silver Spring. In each visit I have used the same technician, Jose Cruz, and his team and I have always felt that I am dealing with people who not only recall me and my name, but know my car well and treat it professionally. I knew today's visit would take about two hours and given the bad weather, I brought some work and enjoyed the warm ambiance of their waiting room, where I could get a hot cup of coffee (and donut), do work, and once I finished my work, relax watching TV. The time flew by. I appreciate the professionalism of Mr. Cruz, checking in on me while I am waiting to give me an approximate time frame for the work to end, and then explaining in detail the servicing and answering my questions about a certain noise I heard and a possible solution. I continue to be impressed by the entire enterprise of Herb Gordon in Silver Spring and of Jose Cruz and his team. More
Bought my used 2011 Sentra w/ 26k miles in Jan. 2013 from the used car dept. Within a month I heard a knocking sound coming from the car. I taken the car in to Herb Gordon Nissan service dept. on 4 separate the used car dept. Within a month I heard a knocking sound coming from the car. I taken the car in to Herb Gordon Nissan service dept. on 4 separate occasions. They Made "repairs" on 2 of the visits "out of the kindness of their hearts" (paraphrasing) but the knocking sound is still there...and getting worse. Every time they've taken car on test drive, they haven't been able to hear anything. I've called Nissan consumer affairs in CA and they recommended to me to take my Sentra to another dealer and pay out of pocket for a diagnostic exam which cost over $130! I don't think it's fair that I'd need to pay for a diagnostic exam for a car that has been giving me issues less than a month after I bought it, that I brought to the attention of HGN service dept. I know the sentiment at car dealers is "once they drive off the lot it's their problem". If that's not Herb Gordon's m.o., then they're certainly not making me feel otherwise. So here I am 10 months later with no resolution and feeling stuck. Not to mention the knocking is getting worse... I just want to be able to enjoy my purchase without the threat of out of pocket repairs with money I don't have before my 1st anniversary. In case you're wondering my driving habits, I'm a grandmother in her mid 50's where the majority of my driving is a daily 70 highway mile round trip commute from home to work. More
George Margelos is a piece of work. I'd tried resolving an issue regarding his subordinates behavior both today and also one week ago to no avail. I'd purchased my wife a 2012 Nissan Rogue back o resolving an issue regarding his subordinates behavior both today and also one week ago to no avail. I'd purchased my wife a 2012 Nissan Rogue back on 1-25-2012 and she has been happy with the vehicle and this particular service center until one week ago. The TPMS light came on 9-17-2013 while my wife was coming home from work. She'd already turned onto our street when it happened so she parked and got out to examine the tires. My wife suspected that there was a malfunction as the tires looked fine. My wife had decided to take the vehicle to the service center in the morning so they could look into the problem before she headed to work. While traveling southbound on Route 29 the tire went flat. When my wife arrived at the service center she was told the tire was not repairable and was forced to purchase another tire to the tune of $265.30. No explanation was given as to why the tire went flat(really?) and when I told my wife to contact the service center that afternoon to inquire a second time what'd happened with the tire the person on the phone got an attitude with her but did not provide her with an answer. On 9-25-2013 the TPMS light came on yet again and my wife stopped on 695 to look and both her and her passenger friend could not find anything wrong. Later on down the road the tire goes flat. Roadside assistance couldn't find anything wrong with the tire. This morning my wife goes back to these inept people and they say there's a nail in the tire. Interesting to hear these conflicting stories. I'm not amused by this. George obviously takes me for a fool by trying to belittle me and by dodging the treatment of my wife while at the service center. It's seems that like most "managers" George thinks he's exempt from being held accountable for the behavior of his employees. No doubt he'll be promoted soon. This matter will get resolved with or without Herb Gordon Nissan's cooperation. More
This is my 4th visit to Herb Gordon Nissan in Silver Spring (3 for service, and one for a factory re-call) and each and every visit is a pleasure. Setting up the service on-line is easy and efficient Spring (3 for service, and one for a factory re-call) and each and every visit is a pleasure. Setting up the service on-line is easy and efficient; you are given good reminders, and in this last visit I had to change the date and time of my service at the last minute, and Jose Cruz was ble to confirm all of this in 3 minutes over the phone. I brought the car in on time and they took it right away; I had it back in under 3 hours. This is excellent service not only with a gracious welcome, but also with care and attention to any problems I had asked them to examine with the car. I am completely satisfied with Jose Cruz and his team - and all of the personnel at Herb Gordon Nissan. Thanks again for a great experience in helping me keep my Nissan maintained and running smoothly. More

Bruce was great to work with. I felt that I was dealt with fairly and honestly...without the stereotypic doubletalk. One of the few times I walked out of a dealership now feeling slimy.
