105 Reviews of Heritage Hyundai Towson Service
I purchased my 2011 Hyundai Sonata from this dealership at the end of May and in these three months I have had to have it towed twice and brought back numerous times to have problems fixed. One of which th at the end of May and in these three months I have had to have it towed twice and brought back numerous times to have problems fixed. One of which they kept my car for around 4 or 5 days (they broke a bolt in my car and had to replace it) and didn't have any loaner cars for me to borrow. Every time I have brought it in to be serviced actually, they have not had a loaner car. They also do not call to let you know when your car is finished. I called several times during the day and the receptionist I spoke with told me they would call to inform me when my car was finished, but they never did. I purchased my car because I needed a reliable car and I definitely would have been better off not buying a Hyundai. It is a 2011 and my 1998 Civic is more reliable than this car. I absolutely love who sold me the car and have nothing negative to say about him, but unfortunately I have nothing positive to say about Hyundai. I do not recommend anyone going to Heritage Hyundai. My trunk release cable broke during the initial walk around the vehicle after I purchased it. Two years later and after breaking a second time, the trunk release cable is broken. The part was ordered around the vehicle after I purchased it. Two years later and after breaking a second time, the trunk release cable is broken. The part was ordered and was told that the repair cannot be during on Saturday. I left a voice mail trying to set up an appointment and have not received a return phone call. I came to this location because it was convenient to my current address as opposed to driving back almost 2 hours to the Hyundai dealership I bought my car from. I came in asking for a diagnostic test on m current address as opposed to driving back almost 2 hours to the Hyundai dealership I bought my car from. I came in asking for a diagnostic test on my car because I suspected that my Power Steering Pump was causing problems for my car. To my knowledge the extended warranty that I purchased when I had first bought the car should have covered a new Power Steering Pump as well as absorbing any costs to test the car. After 3 hours of waiting for my car to be looked at and returned to me, it was confirmed that the Power Steering Pump needed replacing. I was then told that the part was NOT covered under my warranty. I insisted that I had the extended warranty and still I was told that nothing was available in the system aside from the standard "powertrain warranty". I had to pay $98 to have the test completed and since the work that needed to be done wasn't "covered" I also had to pay out of pocket for the test. Frustrated, I decided to drive the 2 hours back to the Hyundai dealership where I had purchased the car and asked them to confirm whether or not I had the extended warranty. They looked up my VIN# and was instantly able to tell me that the part was indeed covered under my extended service warranty and that they weren't sure why Towson Hyundai told me it was not covered. They even told me that their computer program should pull up the same information when you put the VIN# in, regardless of dealership location. I was confused and frustrated to hear this because your location insisted that I was not covered when I actually was. I really expected that if a client were to come in a say that they definitely had a warranty that your customer service associates would go in depth and detail to make sure no stone was left unturned in attempts to find the information needed. Seeing as how simply my original dealership was able to pull it up and confirm it leads me to believe that maybe the Towson location just doesn't care as much or doesn't know how to read and understand the coverage that is listed. I will avoid this location despite its convenience. I lost 3 hours of my time and $98 of my money to hear inaccurate information. It would be better if I knew that my $98 could be reimbursed for failure to give me the accurate information. More
The customer service within service department is lousy!! Brought vehicle in on Sept12,2011 for minor service. The part needed would have to be specially ordered. Subsequently contacted them several times Brought vehicle in on Sept12,2011 for minor service. The part needed would have to be specially ordered. Subsequently contacted them several times in span of month regarding the status so that appt could be scheduled for work to be done. They take redundant information during your call then fail to ever follow up. I am clueless as to why no order was placed day I was in since they looked at car for an entire day and never occurred to anyone that action was needed. Or to have done in two days (at latest)of my visit or at best inform me while there no work would be done that day as part would need ordering A quick check of inventory would have confirmed this. I left vehicle all day believing the work would be performed and I could pick up by 5. No one was able to confirm until 10/7 that the part needed was never ordered. They did manage to perform another service w/o my consent and charge me nearly $400. I found them to be unorganized, along with lacking the ability to communicate, listen and follow simple instruction. I am thoroughly disguted with this whole experience and will not be back there anytime soon despite location being convenient to my home but don't feel incompetance should be rewarded! More
