Mr. and Mrs. Perucca. I am having a difficult time understanding the disconnect in our recent interaction, and I must address your remarks. It is inappropriate and unprofessional for you to disparage our service team by referencing Mr. Hewlett’s passing. That statement is unfair, uncalled for and showed a lack of respect. My team and I operate with integrity, professionalism, and the utmost respect for our clients. Frankly, I am grateful that you directed your frustration at me rather than at my employees because they did not deserve such treatment. Regarding the Service timeline: You dropped your vehicle off Friday for a scheduled service appointment and told us you would be out of town until Monday to pick up. All service requests were completed on Friday, as promised, in preparation for your return Monday. We did not attempt to “upgrade” you, as you stated. What we did advise you of a serious safety concern: All 4 tires are balding, and your rear tires are now showing cord. These tires are unsafe and dangerous to drive on. Your Road Hazard extended warranty contract does not cover this condition, as it applies only to damage from hazard, not normal wear. While we understand this may represent an unexpected expense, it remains our responsibility to inform you of any safety issues with your vehicle. Because we did not receive a response back from you Friday, your service Advisor placed your tire needs on hold until you provided us with your decision. We never received your decision until this morning on Monday. This morning you called and spoke directly with your Advisor. At that time, we prepared your invoice with the declined services. In total, we added 4 miles from your drop off service appointment to pick up, for quality check verification needs. This did not deplete your battery charge. We also requested the car wash service to be performed this morning after you spoke to your Advisor; however, upon your arrival you firmly insisted that you wanted your vehicle returned immediately. In response, your Service Advisor personally retrieved your vehicle. From your arrival this morning, you were back out on the road in 12 minutes. We value every customer and strive to provide clear communication, timely service, and thorough attention to vehicle safety. However, we will not allow unwarranted accusations or inappropriate remarks to undermine the professionalism of our team. Respectfully, Samantha Gomez Service Manager Hewlett Volkswagen, LP
