Hi Dr. Jackson, I hope you are well. When you purchased your Mercedes Benz, you spent several hours at the dealership with your wife driving and inspecting the vehicle. I also went back and reviewed documentation provided by Mercedes Benz Financial regarding the condition of the vehicle when we acquired it from them. There is no indication of a damaged DVD screen. We also utilize several outside vendors to inspect and service our vehicles prior to sale, again no mention of DVD system damage. I also reviewed photos of the vehicle prior to sale. No damage to the DVD system is to be seen. You describe the damage as internal, in that case it would be covered under the Manufactures Warranty for defective parts. The damaged screen you presented to me appears to have been involved in an impact with an object and is quite noticeable, even to an untrained eye. You pointed this out to me prior to operating the system with the provided remote. With your keen attention to detail along with the time spent going over the vehicle both before and after the sale, with the additional information contained in the condition reports and photos it appears that the DVD Screen must have been damaged post sale. You were presented with a form that states, "I have inspected the vehicle and found it free from any visible defects with the exception of the following", no defects are listed with your signature. As an act of Good Will, we offered to have the carpet issued addressed, and reconditioned to improve the appearance. Hi-Line Garage set up several appointments with a vendor to perform the work. You failed to appear for those appointments and never made mention of any existing DVD issue in the several conversations you had with Jimmy Wilkins (sales rep). We make every effort to ensure our customers are happy with their purchase long after the sale, however we are unable to address post sale cosmetics and physical damages. We at Hi Line Garage will still have the carpet improved. Please let me know when we can set another appointment. Thank you, Phil Moore Sales Manager, Hi-Line Garage
