We tried hard to explain to this customer that the $6 online advertised price for a new Acura SH-AWD TL was a typographical error by a third-party listing service, but she did not want an explanation, she wanted a new car for $6. The irony was that she had already made a deal for the exact vehicle when she discovered the error in price listed on the Internet...that was the basis of her complaint. While she is correct that a dealer is obligated to sell a vehicle for the lowest advertised price...the law does not apply when the advertised price is in error. If the price had been a hundred dollars less or even a thousand dollars less she might have a case, but common sense would dictate that a $40,000 vehicle for $6 is a mistake not a "bait and switch" tactic. Unfortunately she believed by law we had to sell it to her for $6 and no other explanation would satisfy her.

The $6 price was not a typographical error by the a third party. The third party downloaded the file exported to them by the dealer. If it was a mistake, it was certainly a mistake on purpose. The truth would satisfy this customer. The truth is $6 advertisement is an artful marketing strategy.

A $40,000 vehicle advertises for $6. A typographical error OR "Intentional" typos From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: A typographical error (often shortened to typo) is a mistake made in, originally, the manual type-setting (typography) of printed material, or more recently, the typing process. The term includes errors due to mechanical failure or slips of the hand or finger,[1] but usually excludes errors of ignorance, such as spelling errors. Before the arrival of printing, the "copyist's mistake" or "scribal error" was the equivalent for manuscripts. Most typos involve simple duplication, omission, transposition, or substitution of a small number of characters. As many typos are caused by a finger accidentally hitting two adjacent keys of a keyboard in a single keystroke during data entry (for example, buckled instead of bucked due to the adjacency of the L key to the K key on many keyboards), the term fat finger (often in the combination "fat-finger syndrome") is used as slang for accidental typing slips. "Intentional" typos Certain typos, or kinds of typos, have achieved widespread notoriety and are occasionally used deliberately for humorous purposes A $40,000 vehicle advertises for $6. According to Mac Churchill Acura response, it was not a "bait and switch" tactic, it was a typographical error by a third-party listing service, a mistake, .... I believe the third-party listing service downloaded the only sent to them by dealer. Who made typographical error or the"intentional" error?

They were very friendly and worked hard to help us get to our price. I felt like I could trust what they were saying. I hate to feel like I am being pressured and I did not once feel under pressure. Overall More

Used car sales were difficult to deal with. Dealership showed a condescending attitude toward potential customer. I bought a used Acura at a Lexus dealer instead. More
