Darryl Jones was recommended to us by my uncle Ben Pena who had just recently leased a new car from him. We had been shopping for a new car for 3 weeks on Long Island where we live. My BMW 3 series was du who had just recently leased a new car from him. We had been shopping for a new car for 3 weeks on Long Island where we live. My BMW 3 series was due to be turned in. We currently have a BMW 5 Series 2009 and a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee as well. We had test driven Toyota Venza, Highlander and I wanted the BMWX3 (again). I built many of the cars on-line from Lexus to Honda to Toyota. I compared prices with Kelly Blue Book and felt equipped to begin any negotiations. My husband even went to Honda City which is 10 minutes from us to see a salesperson recommended by our next door neighbor. He came back with no information from them and didn't seem enthralled. We were shopping for a bit and are not easily led. Disgruntled, we looked at more newspaper ads and on-line deals. My uncle was insistent upon Darryl's product knowledge and courteous service. So we took a gamble and drove the 25 miles to meet him and test drive. We are so happy that we did! Darryl is a fantastic salesman. He is knowledgeable and personable. He took the time to answer all of our questions and did so without pressure. He explained everything thoroughly and went over any minor detail we needed clarification on. His enthusiastic delivery about Honda products and his confidence in them was the tipping point. We were comfortable in our decision to do business with him. He should be commended for his outstanding service. We took delivery within one week and he handled the transaction within one hour. I especially enjoyed the cappuccinos while waiting. We thank Darryl for making our experience with Honda a pleasant one! More

"CONGRATULATIONS! Your new car is now available. Please call me back to schedule an appointment to pick up your car." -- This was the voicemail message I received from my salesperson. My first visit t call me back to schedule an appointment to pick up your car." -- This was the voicemail message I received from my salesperson. My first visit to Hillside Honda was a great experience. My salesperson was calm and helpful. However after about 3 hours, we didn't agree on the numbers and I decided not to buy on that first visit. The very next morning, I received a phone call from the salesperson inviting me back to the dealership b/c he said his manager agreed on the price and the amount for my trade in. When I went back, we went through the paperwork for another 3 hours. After calculating the agreed vehicle price and deducting the agreed trade in amount, he added the NYS tax and DMV charges... but then he added $230 for a "DOCUMENT FEE" and $356 for a "DEALER PREP Fee". I was still very willing to pay these extra fees, although I went to another dealer who did not have such fees. I really liked Hillside Honda. I read great reviews about Hillside Honda and I didn't mind paying the extra $585 in these fees. I signed on the line and gave my credit card for a down payment. The salesperson made a photo copy of my credit card and told me he didn't need to charge anything yet. Everything was going great. But then the finance guy KENNY told that if I didn't finance a portion of my payment, I would need to pay an extra $400 or $500 because the dealer gets incentives for ppl who finance. I was pushed into taking out a loan that I really don't need. (But after so many hours- I gave into taking out a loan.) I filled out the information for a loan. MY MISTAKE =I didn't get a copy of the agreement with the manager's signature before leaving. The salesperson told me to bring in my passport, SS card, etc when the car was ready. I called my family and friends and told them about my new car... I went to the bank to get a certified check. I gathered all the necessary documents...Got the voicemail congraulating me on my new car and went in to pick it out! I was sooo excited! When I got to the dealership, I sat and waited for over an hour. Finally one of the managers came over and tried to renegoiate the deal. I was so confused because the deal was already done. He said that he never agreed nor did he sign the paper. He pointed the finger on the salesperson and the salesperson blamed the manager! The manager said that the selling price was fine but the trade in amount was too much. The salesperson told me to come in with my Bank check to pick up the car but there I am sitting there going over the numbers again! They said there was no deal. The salesperson LIED to me telling me to come pick up the car and then they try to CHANGE the amount agreed on my trade in -pointing fingers at each other. No one took responsibility. The salesperson packed up his belongings and left the dealership while I was sitting at his desk... I was left talking to 3 different "managers". I think they tried to TRICK ME to come back to the dealership -telling me that I was picking up my car and thought I would cave in on the amount for the trade in... they put me into TEARS! Hillside Honda has a great showroom and my salesperson seemed very knowledgeable but when it came down to closing the deal-- THEY LIED TO ME! Be careful when going to Hillside Honda-- they add mysterious $230 Document fees (NYS limit is $75) and $356 Dealer Prep fees to take off the plastic! Make sure you get a copy of the agreement with the manager's signature... leave a deposit which makes in binding-- my salesperson blamed the manager -the manager blamed the salesperson...Thanks for reading and good luck. I hope you get better salespeople and managers who communicate with each other. More

The service staff is very polite and helpful and go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and knowlegeable about what your car needs. And, I've been told, the hourly labor cost is about $5.00 of their way to make sure you are comfortable and knowlegeable about what your car needs. And, I've been told, the hourly labor cost is about $5.00 a hour cheaper than other Honda dealers! I wouldn't bring my car anywhere else. More
