I was in the Hillside Honda dealer site at 13907 Hillside Av. Jamaica NY 11435 ,yesterday 12/11 before go there ,I did the on line search on their web site and was quote for 2026 CRV hybird sport Hillside Av. Jamaica NY 11435 ,yesterday 12/11 before go there ,I did the on line search on their web site and was quote for 2026 CRV hybird sport trail model for 60 month finance with $3000 down and trade in old car for $1974 , the would deal was quote for $672.87/month for 60 month the interest rate at 4.99% ,I was sure can get this deal but after talked to the saleswoman Ariana Lugo and she gave me my quote for the old car for $500 , since I want to get rid of the old car so I settle the deal , however as I sat down with the manager name Jamaine Alphonso, he handle me a piece of white paper with hand written deal for 72 months at 7.99% interest charge with 2 options one with 8 years service contract at $753.33/month, and was not give me the on line quote deal claim that was not for this deal and was never given the whole amount of the cost for 72 month /$753.33 total , since I already put down the $3000 down payment and my old car was already in their hand , so I signe the contract for the $753.33/month deal , only at the end of transaction before I drove off the new car I was given wa white envelope contain the paper work, since I was on theirthere over 3.5 hours and want to get back home . once at home got a chance toread through the wholre realized that I was swithched and baited scam , I knew I sign all the paper work not much to against it , but kept all the paper in file , Just wnat to get the answer from them , I like Honda's car however the dealer dose not qualify for running business like that , I will contact the necessary party to get to the bottom of this scam and make sure no one will fall in this trap again. More

Kenny, the manager, declined to sell me an EV, explaining that delivery after 09/30/25 would disqualify the vehicle from the federal tax credit. According to Internal Revenue Code § 30D (New Clean Vehicle that delivery after 09/30/25 would disqualify the vehicle from the federal tax credit. According to Internal Revenue Code § 30D (New Clean Vehicle Credit) and IRS guidance, eligibility is based on when a written binding contract is signed and a payment is made. If that occurs by Sept. 30, 2025, the purchaser can still claim the credit when the car is placed in service — EVEN IF DELIVERY HAPPENS LATER. Kenny also stated that “cars in transit don’t have VINs.” However, the dealership’s own website shows in-transit cars listed with VINs, color, and option details. Cars in transit and allocations can be sold under a binding contract because a VIN of assigned. In a shocking and rather comical moment, Kenny even read aloud a Honda corporate email that, in my view, clearly supported the IRS position — that “the contract must be signed by 09/30 to qualify”. It highlighted Kenny’s misunderstanding between “contract signing” and “delivery,” which are legally distinct. I found this episode embarrassing to witness. In my opinion, clearer training for sales staff would help ensure customers receive accurate information and that the dealership doesn’t lose sales opportunities tied to EV tax credits.
