Initially I went to the dealership with intentions of making a $16,000 down payment and financing the balance of the cost of the car. A contract was written up for purchase, but in meeting with the Fina making a $16,000 down payment and financing the balance of the cost of the car. A contract was written up for purchase, but in meeting with the Financial Officer was convinced into leasing instead, so I decided to upgrade to another car with features that really interested me. The Financial Officer asked the salesperson who had handled the initial contract for purchasing to change the agreement to a Leasing Agreement. I was never given an overview of the leasing process or the pros and cons of leasing, but was told that leasing would be a more practical decision to make. This was my first experience with leasing, and I trusted what the Financial Officer told me: leasing would be cheaper. I also did not get a thorough overview of the information contained in the Leasing Agreement, but was given the contract to sign. The salesperson was then told to make arrangements for me to accept delivery of the vehicle. It took almost 8 hours in the dealership where I was persuaded into waiting to take receipt of the car, which still needed extra work done . I later realized that the purpose was for me to take receipt of the car where I would be committed into the contractual agreement. I made a seven thousand dollar down payment to lease the car at the Financial Officer's urging with monthly payments of $400.00 that equates to value of purchasing the car, which was my initial intention. On thorough review of the Leasing Agreement, I went to see the Financial Officer in person to inform him that an error was made with the figures because the car was overvalued by at least $5000.00 over the sticker price, and that with monthly payments of $400 that I was paying what it would take to own the vehicle. He told me that nothing could be done to rectify the situation because the car was a newly released design and a hot item. This was the worse buying experience that I have ever had. Both people that I dealt with were friendly which belied the raw deal that I received, and what should have been a wonderful experience in owning my first new car turned into a bittersweet one. I have been calling Hillside Honda to see if this matter can be reconciled to no avail. Hopefully, they will do the honorable thing and allow rewrite the contract so that I can own the car. Shame on Hillside Honda!!!!!. More
Hillside Honda is the worst dealership ever, filled with crooks. I was on my way to sign a deal with another dealership when SAMIRA KHATUN(works on the floors but not as a sales person) called begging me t crooks. I was on my way to sign a deal with another dealership when SAMIRA KHATUN(works on the floors but not as a sales person) called begging me to come back to the dealership. She guaranteed me that they would beat the low price that was quoted by another dealer and would reimburse me for train tickets (since I was without a car). After I firmly said that I was going to go ahead with my deal at the other dealership, she agreed to bring my lease price down by another 15$ per month and stated that the only fees that I would pay is the standard fees that are charged by all dealers. After hassling me with 5 phone calls and promising me that the manager has agreed for the low price, I agreed to stop by the next day. Well to my surprise--- it turned out to be a SCAM!!!! Even though I told them what the agreement was when I stopped by, they came out with much higher prices and 3000$ down payment while the agreement was with 0 $ down payment + out of pocket standard fees. When I got pissed off for wasting my time and told them that they shouldn't have promised these prices over the phone if they were not going to keep their word, the sales person calmly replied "Well it got you back here didn't it" This pissed me off even more and then they brought down the montly lease price to what they had promised but overinflated the out of pocket "standard" fees while over the phone they had said that they dont have any other hidden fees and I would be paying the same standard fees. About 2 days prior to this, I had initially stopped by Hillside Honda and they quoted me a price of 230/mnth with 0 $ down payment + 1800 $ which included the "standard" fees that all dealers charge. When I told the manager about that (who by the way was VERY RUDE AND ARROGANT) stated that "at 230$/month, I can get the car by paying 1800 $ out of pocket "standard fee", but for the lower price I would have to pay 4000 $ "standard" fee!!!!!" How the F***K does a fee that they claim is "standard" for all dealerships jump about 3 times as much on a lower monthly plan. State tax on a lower plan should be lower not higher. When I saw the breakdown of the 4000 standard fees, there were other random fees that no other dealer was charging. By saying what he said the A**HOLE of a manager pretty much made it very clear that they bring up the "standard" fees and add hidden fees when the monthly payment is lower. All in all it was the worst experience ever. Ofcourse I didnt get reimbursed for my ticket $$ and it was a COMPLETE WASTE OF MY TIME!!!!!! and I was left with out a car. Bottom line---The people here are crooks, very rude and trick you into coming down to the dealership to waste your time when they know that they are not going to beat a better price at another dealership or they are going to beat it by a couple of dollars per month but charge 3 times the amount of "standard" fee that the other dealers charge. DO NOT fall for SAMIRA that begs and hassles you about 10 times on the phone. I am surprised that the dealership is still in business. Too bad I didnt know about this website before otherwise with all the negative reviews this place has received, I could have spent my time wisely elsewhere More
This was a terrible place to visit. Things started out okay, it was pretty normal until we came down to the pricing. The salesperson tried to charged us $1,000 more than what was on the sticker and then okay, it was pretty normal until we came down to the pricing. The salesperson tried to charged us $1,000 more than what was on the sticker and then tried to tell us they had just increased the price for the car that we are interested. My advice, save yourself some time and go elsewhere. Why waste time dealing with a bunch of crooks and liars. More

I've called them 3 times 40 minutes before made a trip about the certain model I was looking for. 3 different persons told me that they have several colors in stock. This dealership is a reap off. I was looking to buy a Honda Odyssey, and was inquiring about the price. They told me one price when I spoke to them over the phone, but as soon as I landed there and sat w Honda Odyssey, and was inquiring about the price. They told me one price when I spoke to them over the phone, but as soon as I landed there and sat with the sales person he jacked up the price much higher with some weired fees (some of the fees I have never heard in other dealership). Not only that the sales person (named Mike) asked me to see my drivers license and when I showed it to him he started preparing a sales slip (pink slip) without even negotiating the price and having my permission to write my personal information on that sales slip. I found that they are very careless, insincere and not trust worthy. Specially the sales manager named Jerome was a snob, very unpolite and careless. It is not worth even considering this dealer. I found that there price is much higher than any other dealership in that region. More
Did the old bait & switch on me. Was told over phone the model I wanted was in stock in many many colors. When I got there the salesman told me they had NONE on the lot of the model I wanted, and only the model I wanted was in stock in many many colors. When I got there the salesman told me they had NONE on the lot of the model I wanted, and only had the highest priced model (surprise surprise!). And he said that to get the model I wanted would be near impossible to get in. When I stood pat and told him I only wanted the less expensive model, he quoted me a price way higher that the MSRP. Then said he needed me to hand him my credit card before he could even ask his manager about matching a lower quote I had received in order to show him that I'm "serious about purchasing". Puh-lease! Have been shopping around at many many dealerships and they ALL lie to some degree, but this place absolutely takes the cake!! More
I just bought a car from them last night. True, we did wait a few minutes, but once we made it clear that we wre prepared to buy a car that evening, we were assigned a salesperson - the friendly and very wait a few minutes, but once we made it clear that we wre prepared to buy a car that evening, we were assigned a salesperson - the friendly and very helpful Vera. I was expecting that I would have to return on another day to pick up the car (with my other car - not from this dealership - I had to make two additional trips to the dealership before I could pick it up!) but everything was taken care of right away and I drove the car home the same night! I'm not sure about the negative reviews here - I guess everyone's car-buying experience is different. I do see that most of those negative reviews are somewhat dated, so maybe things have changed for the better at Hillside Honda. More
I got psychologically scammed for the $500 deposit as well!
I just wanted to look at a Honda Civic, and the sales person was nice and friendly and even let me test drive one which I didn't even ask fo well!
I just wanted to look at a Honda Civic, and the sales person was nice and friendly and even let me test drive one which I didn't even ask for. But he asked for my driver's license and check it out, then drove the car around to let me drive it around the block. Then he said to wait at his desk. I thought I would just get price quote. But then he proceeded to write up a contract, without my permission! I kept asking what the price was, but he was vague and did his sales pitch. After haggling, he finally came down in price, but then he wouldn't tell me financing info. He kept wanting me to sign the paper. I said at 4 times I wouldn't sign anything, but he kept saying I had to in order to get info on financing and insurance. He also kept insisting on the $500 deposit. I said I didn't want to leave a deposit. But he kept looking at me and said, Are you interested in buying a car? I said yes, but I didnt' want to give a deposit. He said it was refundable. I asked if it was FULLY refundable. He said yes. I asked for it in writing. He wrote "Deposit fully refundable" on the contract paper. Then I gave my credit card, and he charged the $500. Then he haggled some more regarding the finance. Still wouldn't give the information. I tried walking out the door, but he kept telling me to wait. Another sales person came and they both waylaid me. I said I didn't know what the deposit was for. They said "Well, what do you want it to be for?" I said, "I thought it was to secure the price quote and finance rate." They said okay, and scribbled three finance rates on the back of his business card. I was so exhausted I walked out.
Later on that same day, I called to get a refund on my credit card. But got the runaround. I was referred to the "Refund Dept to speak to a Nick or David in a couple of days. I suspect it's because they wanted time to fully charge my credit card to let it get on my statement.
I waited then called back in a couple of days. Got the runaround on the phone. The people to speak to said I had to speak to the sales people, The sales people said I had to the "Refund people" I finally spoke to the manager, Joe Schuster. He said he'll see "what he can do." and he would call me back. It's all a SCAM. Such liars. He has not called back. And I am forced to dispute this through my credit card company. I read the other two reviews and wished I had read them before I visited this dealership. Even though customers say NO, these sales people are so trained to scam, that it doesn't matter what customers say and want. Perhaps these sales scam tactics can be used for anti-terrrororists agents to protect our country, not to scam fellow Americans trying to do honest business! More
Never ever buy anything from this stealership. I was trying to by a Accord from them. Went back there got a price lock down and he keep pressuring me to put down a deposit. So i agree with put down a $5 trying to by a Accord from them. Went back there got a price lock down and he keep pressuring me to put down a deposit. So i agree with put down a $500 deposit and had yet to discuss interest rate with me. He told me to go back in 3 days and quickly he gave me an appointment to go pick up the car and discuss finance rate. Everyday from that date the salesman call me up remininding me when i can go pick up the car. So i call him back saying that i can't make it on that date. OMG.. his attitutes totally flipped. He always mention that i need to purchase insurance before they can disucss finance rate with me. From this point this stealership sounded very fishy. Why would someone buy warranty for a product they've never own? So i went back there and demanded my refund back. The manager sits down with me and giving me all these BS. Saying that i still need to get my insurance card before they can discuss the finance rate with me. After 30 min of back and forth conversation going nowhere he said i can get my refund. BUT i need to get a rate without insurance and that i need to speak to a finance manager first. "if you don't like the interest rate you can always cancel out the deal" DO NOT FALL INTO THIS TRAP. We walk away and went back there on a Saturday where there's more people. So I went back there demanded our refund. They started playing games with me saying they can't refund the money today because he doesn't have a code. This is BS. So i demanded the manager in writing on the contract to refund the money. After making a scene with potential customers looking, they finally wrote on the contract that they will refund the money. More
