My experience at Honda went well except that my car mileage went from 13,000 miles to 39,000 miles so now I have to bring my car back in to be changed back to the mileage I came in with and that is an mileage went from 13,000 miles to 39,000 miles so now I have to bring my car back in to be changed back to the mileage I came in with and that is an inconvenience for me. Issue: 1) parking sensors installed by service sensor fell out during car wash. 2) honda apple CarPlay gets pixelated randomly while driving. Resolution: 1) after requesting car to be kept another day fell out during car wash. 2) honda apple CarPlay gets pixelated randomly while driving. Resolution: 1) after requesting car to be kept another day they claimed it parking sensors were secured better and car ready for pickup. 2) no resolution as it’s an ongoing problem with multiple models and they have no idea how to fix. Incompetence: After waiting a long time my father was able to pickup my car. After driving home he realized the parking sensors were showing an error. So he tried calling them using phone number on the ticket and then one for the service center but nobody picked up. He decided to go back immediately since they would likely claim they delivered it perfectly and we damaged it, if we delayed. Once there after dealing with more idiocy he finally dealt with a competent manager (Dominic) who mentioned he told them the car wasn’t ready for release. It seems the error was due to them not reinstalling the sensors and they even had one dangling out. Note, I confirmed over the phone that they fixed both issues. Lies!!! So they finally reattached the parking sensors, possibly poorly since they were rushing and my father was able to leave. To make it worse this isn’t the first mess up Hillside Honda has done. 1) when I first purchased the car they made a calculation error which resulted in the final amount being more than we initially agreed. Since I didn’t want to lose the car, they made me pay the extra few hundred by credit car. Personally, if you can’t use a calculator then you should eat the mistake since the final amount is what we negotiated on but fine! 2) they then promised to instal the parking sensors and they requested the car to be kept overnight to do it. However, they lied, when we were told to come pick it up, it was missing the parking sensors and they claimed they didn’t have the parts. Why keep it overnight if you can’t install anything? Then they gave me a iou for the sensor since we already paid for the work. A week later when they assured us they actually had the part, we then dropped off the car and again had to keep it overnight. Note, every time we kept it overnight we were out of a car costing us money to leave and get back to the place. Then finally when I was able to pick it up, the secretary claimed she has no idea what I’m talking about and sent me on a wild goose chase to find my car. Finally a nice mechanic took me back to the original secretary and found my car. They then didn’t even bother giving me a rundown on how to use the sensors until I outright asked the person who drove the car out to me. He kindly agreed. Overall: Hillside Honda has become the worst dealer I’ve ever dealt with. Which is a shame since my family has bought multiple Honda’s from them over the years and it was never this bad. We’re seriously tempting to switching all our cars to Lexus just so we don’t have to deal with this incompetence. It’s not that we can’t afford other brands we just thought Honda was a good brand for a reasonable price. Although with service like this it’s not worth it. Additionally, I would like to note that nobody at any time has done anything to reimburse me for my time and costs in any way. All I got was some apologies and how it’s someone else’s fault. At least offer to give me a coupon or something as an apology. Then again they likely will go broke from doing that since I’m sure I’m not the only one they have messed up with. More
