When I added a feedback on October 31st on this site, I received a private response from the sales manager Mr. Joe that he is willing to do business with me again and he would honor the committed price. I received an email from the dealership, following which I went to the dealership on 25th November. He then engaged a sales person with me just to make our experience more horrendous. I am sure you will be shocked to know that he can be so unprofessional to customers. More disappointing is that my wife was with me and she was completely shocked to see the sale manager’s approach. Event-1: He stopped by us when we were discussing with the sale person and started interrogating me. It was pretty annoying as it was an unwanted interference. He asked us why did I visit the dealership when I had given a bad review about him ? He said I tarnished his image by giving a bad review. When I said “what does he want from me ? I came here because you wanted to do business with us.” He then asked me to apologize for giving a bad review. Then he left the scene saying that he has to check the inventory and get back. But that was not true. Because the sale person has already confirmed that the white CRV touring is available in the parking lot. He actually went to collect the printout of the review from Dealer Rater website. Event-2: After few minutes, he came with a print out of the review from the website http://www.dealerrater.com/ and highlighted few sentences. He asked me to read them and explain why did I give a bad review? When I asked him why did he not take the complete conversation where he had asked me to visit and do business with him again. He said he does not have that. I pulled that in my mobile and asked him t look at but he declined to see and comment. After a brief conversation, he told me that he will sell the car to me in 2 conditions – 1) I would apologize and 2) I have to pay $1000 extra on top of the previously committed price because I had given bad review on him. This is a penalty for not accepting the original offer and giving a bad review. My question to all readers are: Should anyone in his role behave the way he behaved us ? It clearly demonstrates that he is not ready to receive negative comments in any circumstances. So then why did they ask us to provide feedback if they are not ready to accept the true comments from the customers ? It is a big hypocrisy. If you provide negative comments, you cannot visit the dealership again. If you do, you will be interrogated. Can someone in a senior role try to retaliate a customer on the floor and that to by sending a message that he wants to do business with me again ? Can someone repeatedly ask a customer that why did he/she visit the dealership ? He was so furious that I and my wife got very embarrassed and finally left the dealership. I do not know how to describe our feelings – I would wish that this should never happen to anyone, which happened with us. I was questioned on my fundamental rights to visit any shop on my own wish as long as my intents are noble. I do not need to explain the reason of my visit and that to when I was asked to come and do business with the same person. I am afraid what kind of ethics do they carry while doing business. Is it fair to humiliate someone by inviting to their business floor just because the reviews provided did not match their expectation ? More
