When my regular mechanic informed me that I would need to go to a Honda dealer to address my Pilot’s issues, I contacted Honda of Short Pump, explained my problem, and made an appointment. Travis was mindful of my needs from the start, accommodating my schedule and asking if I would be dropping off or staying for the initial diagnostic evaluation. When I arrived the next day, Travis informed me about the cost of the initial evaluation and the length of time, two to three hours. He pointed out that Honda of Short Pump has two lounges: one on the main floor and another on an upper floor, which is quieter and accessible by elevator. Since I had work to do, I went upstairs to find the lounge opened onto a large, shaded patio with cushioned sofas and armchairs, perfect for my work on an iPad. Once the mechanic finished his diagnostic testing, Travis called and explained that I had a damaged camera, the one used for Lane Keeping Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control. The damaged camera would have to be replaced, a safety issue. I agreed to have it done, but when I mentioned that I would have no transportation if I left the car, Travis offered to have me driven home and picked up when my Pilot was ready. I thanked him for this, but said that I would be stuck at home. He then offered a loaner car and found one for me right away. When you’re single and live on your own, this service means a lot. The part was ordered, and work was completed by the following afternoon. In the meantime, I had a vehicle to get me where I needed to go. Travis called when my Pilot was ready, was attentive, and informed me that the repair cost less than the initial estimate, and went out of his way to retrieve my Pilot for me. Excellent customer service matters. It’s stressful when something goes wrong with your primary vehicle. Travis was kind, attentive, and eager to make me feel at ease as I faced an unexpected expense and significant decision. A Honda representative like Travis truly helps customers sift through significant choices in a welcoming environment and feel that their car will be in good hands, given how well they are treated.
