Terrible experience with a dishonest dealership. Bought a vehicle a few months ago. As part of the final agreement with the salesman to buy the vehicle I was promised floors mats would be delivered Bought a vehicle a few months ago. As part of the final agreement with the salesman to buy the vehicle I was promised floors mats would be delivered to my house. Never received them. Called the GM about the mats who said he would look into it, but he never called back and I have reached out multiple times. Also I got shorted money on my refund check from payoff. I called multiple times about this and never heard back from the finance department. The salesman quit and told me it was a horrible dealership that was not a good environment to work at. He said if they were a decent company they would make it right. Never did so that reflects negatively on them. They are just out to make a sale. They do not value the customer. Watch out for false promises and don’t leave anything on the table. I should not have to reach out so many times to get something corrected only have them never respond. More
I beg you please do NOT buy from Purdy Group USA, especially Huntsville Toyota. I believe I was lied to, deceived, manipulated at the very least and I would even say stolen from. If I thought I cou especially Huntsville Toyota. I believe I was lied to, deceived, manipulated at the very least and I would even say stolen from. If I thought I could, I would press charges. Let me clarify a couple of things before I tell my story. I am 63 years old. I have bought more cars than I can count. I usually keep 4 cars at a time. I have a credit score of over 825. All my correspondence with Huntsville Toyota was by text message (So I had proof of what was said) Except for the couple hours I was at the dealership. This became the worst car buying experience of my life by far! I have given them more than 3 months to make this right. They have only given me a partial refund of what I believe I am owed. I even sent a certified letter to the dealership and to the corporate office. Not 1 person has followed up. Before I drove the 3 plus hours to the dealership I wanted to make sure that it was a deal that was worth the drive and not a waste of my time. So in late December 2025 I text messaged the General Manager Jason Pennell. We finally agreed on a price. I told him several times I did not want any additional fees or products (No Adds). I told him that was the price I would pay plus the normal TTL. I even said do NOT waste my time driving 6 plus hours round trip for nothing. He agreed. At this point he had a salesman send me an additional video that I asked for. I drove down to Huntsville and test drove the used SUV. I liked it so I tried to get a couple hundred dollars more off the deal. They refused. I again agreed to buy it as long as there were no additional fees except TTL. I was then for the first time told there was a CarRx System added to all cars and it is in the fine print and they would not take it off. It is snake oil as far as I can see. It is plug and play zero labor to install or remove. It is $995.00 of pure profit. You can buy a scanner for $20.00 that will do the same scan. CarRx includes a tracking device and you have no idea when or who is tracking it! Not for me! Now I am xxxxxx! I did everything I could to make sure this did NOT happen! However after having a SUV sold out from under me at a different dealer just hours before my appointment to see it and driving the 6 hours round trip to look at this one, I did not feel like walking away over 1k and having to start over looking again. Hindsight I wish I had walked! It makes me sick to think I gave these people money to treat me like this! Now we go into the finance office with Todd Bagley. That is where the problem gets worse! First off he gets me a bad interest rate considering my excellent credit rating. ( I did not care as I already planned on refinancing it the next week at my credit union and I knew they could not beat that rate ) Then I see there is a $225.00 paperwork fee! So they charge you to sell you a car? Then an additional $30.00 document fee to sign off the lean when the car is paid for? (have to pay that up front). Now I am fuming mad but, I want the car so I sign it. Now the real deception starts part 1 and 2. Rather they do it on purpose or not we can debate but, it is a well known tactic to ask personal questions and tell personal stories to get you at ease and your mind off what you are doing. I know this and I am just going to say NO. I won’t fall for it. First comes the hard sell extended warranty. (since I had said many times I did not want any Add ons, this should not have even been asked) I politely said NO. They gave me more hard sell and I replied that I will not let anyone work on my cars. That I have done all my own work since I was 15 and done it for a living for over 40 years! He replied that I could get paid for working on my own car. That is a lie and he knew it! NO extended warranty company will pay you to work on your own car! It must be taken to a shop. He started with a come back that time I not so politely said NO! See part 2 More
In January 2025, I purchased a vehicle from Huntsville Toyota, and unfortunately, it has been one of the most disappointing major purchases I have ever made. What should have been an exciting and positive Toyota, and unfortunately, it has been one of the most disappointing major purchases I have ever made. What should have been an exciting and positive milestone quickly turned into a frustrating ordeal. I want to caution future customers please review all final documents carefully, particularly if you’re working with Mr. Lamar Wright & his finance team. Mr. Wright, who handled the financing aspect of my purchase, & Mr. Gonzales, both engaged in practices I believe to be deceptive. Without my consent, Mr. Gonzales added a $1,000 charge to my contract, despite my repeated requests, Mr. Wright included a $3,500 extended warranty that I explicitly declined . Be wary of engaging in casual or personal conversation during the paperwork process—it appears to be a tactic used to distract from what’s being added to the contract.Upon realizing these fees had been added, I promptly contacted the dealership to cancel the warranty. While they agreed to cancel it, I was told the refund would take up to 90 days delay that felt unreasonable given my repeated refusal of the warranty from the start. As for the $1,000 fee, I was informed it was non-refundable due to being a “mandatory dealership charge” for a GPS tracker. However, the documentation I signed clearly states this is not a required purchase.I made a $7,000 deposit toward the purchase of a vehicle priced at $26,000. Based on basic math, my remaining balance should have been $19,000. This discrepancy is unacceptable. My deposit was not applied correctly to the vehicle’s purchase price. After reviewing the details Mr. Lamar Wright, who handled the financial portion of the transaction, misapplied most of the deposit without proper explanation .Had I taken my $7,000 deposit elsewhere, I strongly believe I would have received a far better deal and transparent treatment. Instead, I feel misled and taken advantage of in what should have been a straightforward financial transaction.Following my complaint, my calls were no longer returned—starting with Mr. Wright. I escalated the issue to Toyota’s corporate office, but was told they could only act as mediators and had no authority to enforce dealer accountability. I was promised a callback from the district manager, which to this day has not occurred. If the district manager fails to respond to a customer concern, it raises serious questions about the accountability of the staff under his supervision.Additionally, my experience with the dealership’s customer service was poor. The morning receptionist was unresponsive, and I had to call multiple times before I was finally assisted by the evening receptionist, who was the only professional and helpful person I interacted with.To make matters worse, the vehicle I purchased has several issues, including the need for alignment and visible mold—issues I’ve had to address out of pocket. I have since involved the DMV, who investigated the matter and determined my consumer rights had indeed been violated. As a result, Huntsville Toyota was required to refund the unauthorized charges. While I am grateful to have finally received a refund, it is unacceptable that I had to endure such unnecessary stress and take such extensive measures to resolve the situation. A car purchase should be a positive and straightforward experience, not a battle with deceptive practices and unresponsive staff. I drove over 1 hour from Katy to view this vehicle and I regret it every day. Based on my experience and that of 2 friends who have had similar issues with other Toyota dealerships I would strongly advise against purchasing a vehicle from Huntsville Toyota, or any Toyota dealership.I have shared my experience in hopes of protecting others from going through the same ordeal. Of course I should have walked out but easier said than done after that long of a drive. Salesman swore he told me of add-on verbally, but I record my calls and he didn't, and the paperwork he emailed me ahead of the sale did not include the extra $1,000. I read statements on the site and in store about full transparency and how Huntsville Toyota differed from typical pushy dealerships -what an absolute disappointment. More

The staff was nice. I was a little trusted initially when I first came in because I wasn't helped in the lot and was short on time, and wanted some question answered.
