I made an appointment to buy a car, I was met by my sales person John V. at the door, he immediately listened to what I wanted in a vehicle. I found the vehicle I wanted that I had seen online and took it for a test drive. I told them where I needed to be for payment, down payment etc and they ensured I was comfortable with both and I purchased the vehicle. The finance person Greg was outstanding he had everything ready when I was introduced to him, and it was smooth sailing with all the paperwork. Hurd Auto Mall is a well oiled machine it runs like clockwork from sales to finance to insurance transfer. There are No Snake Oil sales techniques, no holding your keys hostage just here are the numbers if they work they work. I have been looking at a new GMC Sierra for a few months and I found a great deal at Hurd Auto Mall. When I entered the dealership, I was greeted by Bob Hein. He was friendly and professional and he happened to be a veteran, we connected instantly! Bob was an honest salesman and did not try to push any unwanted sales pitch or scams that most of us are not interested in at all. Within an hour, I was signing on a new truck and out the door! What really impressed me was Bob had offered to come pick me up when I didnt have a ride to grab my truck. Thanks Bob for your outstanding customer service and the experience I had at Hurd Auto Mall. This is a process I typically dread, but the entire Hurd team was so friendly, helpful and fast in getting me out of there — while making sure all my questions were answered — that it was a pleasure. Dishonest dealer There's lots more I'm leaving out for the sake of brevity but basically here's what happened - Before purchasing the used vehicle, I brought it to a There's lots more I'm leaving out for the sake of brevity but basically here's what happened - Before purchasing the used vehicle, I brought it to an independent mechanic nearby (Anchor Subaru) for a pre-purchase inspection. - 2 main issues came up, 1 was a battery issue (easily fixable) and another was an engine leak. - I brought this up with Guy Clark (the sales rep) and was told verbally that it would be fixed before I get the vehicle. I also have it hand-written and signed on a piece of paper (though not sure how useful that is). - I go on a 2-week vacation - When I get back, I meet with Guy to pick up the vehicle. I ask about the documentation that shows the leak was fixed. He says he'll get it to me the next day. - So far, everything's going smoothly so I trust him (obviously wrongly). - Well, this is when the problem begins. I got back 8/2 and only after going to his manager James Kelley, do I manage to finally force him to get me the documentation on 8/24 - All it says on the documentation is "CHECK FOR LEAKS NOTHING FOUND". Can you imagine my shock at seeing this!? This is what he means when he says the problem will be "fixed", it's by literally ignoring it! - Well, in the 2.5 weeks since then, I have left countless voicemails and text messages with both Guy and James (and their receptionists are somehow NEVER able to find them in the office) but have not heard back at all. It should still be covered under the dealer warranty but something tells me they are going to have tricks up their sleeves there so I'm just going to cut my losses short, pay the $2-3k myself to get the engine leak fixed and report this to the authorities (BBB, FTC, RI Attorney General's Office etc.). More

Terrible customer service Very disappointing experience. My sales representative didn’t know anything about the car, had to return 4 times before the car was ready. The dealership sent me off with a quarter tank of gas. When I inquired as to why the answer I received was the dealership supervisor “does not like to fill the gas tanks.” To top all this off I found a nice surprise this am when I opened the hidden compartment in the console.... empty chewing tobacco containers, candy bar wrappers, and used paper towels. Disgusting. More

From the first welcoming handshake to the finalizing one before I drove off the lot she was very professional, courteous and patient as I was not sure just what size vehicle I was looking for. She took the time to thoroughly explain things and though she told us she was new there she seemed very confident that she would find me the perfect vehicle. After spending some time together she did just that. Very pleased with the experience and especially liked that she dealt with my preferences as it was to be my vehicle. Some previous Dealerships only would speak directly to my Husband, even though he had made it clear that it was my purchase. More
