Got call and was scheduled for Wednesday morning. was supposed to be a 2 hour repair. Finally got truck back after 4 PM. Also diagnosis fee was not considered when paying for the repair. Poor and unbelievable communications is what rated this as LOW More

It seems that they overbooked clients for the day. More
Avoid this service department at all costs. Go to J&J on Main Street or literally anywhere else. On February 26th, I brought my 2017 Ram 1500 (122k miles, meticulously maintained) to Huston after a local shop (J&J) diagnosed a ticking noise as a failing lifter in Cylinder 5. I specifically told the Huston service advisors that the Cylinder 5 lifter needed replacement. Huston stated they could not go on an outside diagnosis and insisted on their own "certified" diagnostic fee. I agreed to pay the fee to have Huston diagnose it. The next day, they called and claimed the issue was actually the ESIM. I trusted their expertise and paid $612.21 for the repair. When I picked up the truck, the mechanic admitted the ticking was still there but told me it was "harmless" and just needed a fuel injection service (which he quoted for another $330). and wrote the cost on the back of my receipt. The moment I drove off the lot and accelerated onto the highway, the ticking noise became louder. Within minutes, the engine light started flashing. I immediately called Huston explaining the ESIM was not the issue. I turned around and dropped the truck back off. A few days later, they admitted the Cylinder 5 lifter broke off (exactly what I told them to fix in the first place) and it had completely destroyed my entire engine. Instead of taking responsibility for their misdiagnosis, they quoted me $13,800 for a new engine. Mr. Huston then tried to "work with me" by trying to sell me a new vehicle with monthly payments. I had just paid off this $35,000 truck two years ago; I didn’t want a new payment, I wanted my truck fixed correctly. He eventually dropped the price to $10,000 and then $9,000. Stating he was only doing that to help me out, not because he is taking accountability for their costly screw up. Since they had already had my truck for a month and I would be stuck with a 2,300 diagnosis fee no matter if I got the truck fixed or not, I felt forced to pay the $9,000 just to get my vehicle back. I have filed a formal complaint with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and am currently consulting with a lawyer. My lawyer loves the fact that I have all the proof we need to move forward (always keep your documents/receipts). Do not trust their "certified" status—it cost me an engine that I never would have needed if they had just done what I asked in the first place. More
