Came in for an oil change in a tire rotation and have been coming here since I purchased the vehicle. When I got my vehicle home, I had oil leaking on my garage floor and oil splattered in my vehicle, bu been coming here since I purchased the vehicle. When I got my vehicle home, I had oil leaking on my garage floor and oil splattered in my vehicle, but when I left the dealership, nothing was said to me about this. Had to come back the following day to have the vehicle cleaned up and was told the technician spilled half a quart of oil the day before, but thought he cleaned it. All up was never notified about this. Very disappointing. More
When I arrived on Tuesday, August 4, for my 7a. m. appointment, I was promptly greeted by Keith. I explained to him the switch on the passenger’s door opened/closed the window without issue. When lo m. appointment, I was promptly greeted by Keith. I explained to him the switch on the passenger’s door opened/closed the window without issue. When lowering the window from the driver’s side switch & trying to raise the passenger window from the switch on the driver’s side, it intermittently failed to raise the window (I could still raise it from the passenger’s switch). I explained to Keith, while today’s appointment was to resolve the switch problem, I wanted to address an issue I was having with the transmission. I explained, primarily, when the car was “cold”, the transmission hesitated & jerked for several miles before it eventually smoothed out. I continued to tell him when the car was moving, I could hear a soft high-pitched “whining” sound; the sound did not occur when the car was in park or was idling at a stop sign. I told Keith, when researching the transmission problem, I learned another possible cause for these symptoms could be caused by a wheel bearing issue. I explained I had followed the diagnostic instructions I found & performed the simple test of driving 15-20 mph & gently swaying the steering wheel left & right out of my “lane” – if the noise changed/disappeared when I swayed, it was a wheel bearing issue. The noise continued; thus, this was not a wheel bearing issue. Keith told me “Since I had done all of this research, I was going to put him out of a job.” Keith offered while the car was hooked up to the computer to diagnose the switch problem, it could also diagnose the transmission problem, thus “killing two birds with one stone”. Knowing that I had planned to wait while the switch was being replaced, Keith told me the additional test would take longer & suggested I be taken home by the Courtesy Car Driver. I accepted that offer, but I needed my car back by the end of the business day since I had to go to work the next morning. Keith told me he couldn’t “guarantee” a warranty loaner car would be available, but he had 2 loaner cars coming back that day. I asked Keith when I’d hear something on the status of the switch & the transmission & was told I’d hear from him by noon. At some point mid-morning, I received a text advising me the “panic button” on my car was pushed. Concerned about that alarm & not knowing why it went off, I called Keith & left him a voicemail. When he called me, he said he didn’t know why I received that text. He told me the car hadn’t been looked at yet, but would call me in the afternoon when it had been. Not hearing anything by mid-afternoon, I left another voicemail for Keith. When Keith returned my call, he advised the switch would need to be replaced & would have to be ordered since they didn’t have it in stock. The part & the one hour labor charge would be approximately $880. When Keith heard my audible gasp, he told me he thought he could get the price down to about $800. He told me the computer didn’t produce any diagnostic codes for the transmission problems we discussed, it had not been driven to test for the transmission hesitation & no loaner car was available because the one that was returned had “problems” & couldn’t be loaned as a result. I told Keith I’d be in to pick up the car. The charge for the computer to diagnosis the switch problem was $205.59 after the 10% discount Keith gave me. I decided to call 2 Hyundai dealerships within a 45 mile radius of my home to receive a quote to replace the door switch, before picking up my car. Both quoted 1 hour labor & both quoted a part cost substantially lower than Rosen’s – both dealership gave me the identical part number Keith did. When I arrived at Rosen around 4pm, I advised Keith I wouldn’t be replacing the switch & of my dissatisfaction that no one was able to drive the car, after being there since 7am & the full “under warranty” diagnostic was not run on the car, as promised. Before I left, I told Steve Davis, Service Dept. Manager, of my disappointment. More
