Kevin Shakur did a fine job representing the dealership and working with us in an honest, straightforward manner. We were able to construct a deal that worked for both of us. Carrie in the finance depart and working with us in an honest, straightforward manner. We were able to construct a deal that worked for both of us. Carrie in the finance department was one of the most professional and "together" folk we've dealt with in handling all the paperwork quickly and helping us ensure it was all as agreed (even to the point of smoothly making one important correction). All in all the most pleasant car buying experience in memory. More
I had visited Marrieta on September 18th, 2013 to view a vehicle at another dealership, however, I had gained interest from viewing the vehicle that I ended up purchasing, from Cherokee Hundai. I drove near vehicle at another dealership, however, I had gained interest from viewing the vehicle that I ended up purchasing, from Cherokee Hundai. I drove nearly one hundred miles to view the first vehicle at another dealership, but stopped at Cherokee first to give them a shot at my business. I was greeted by Phil almost immediately. He was very willing to assist us with a test drive. The vehicle was very low on fuel, so I made mention to Phil of it, and he asked that I drive it to a nearby station, which he filled the tank, not just with $5-$10 dollars like most "dealers" would have, but all the way up! This impressed me quite a bit. Upon arriving back at the dealership, I disclosed to him that I was obligated somewhat to view a nearby dealers vehicle that I had actually came to Marrieta for, but that I would call him after doing so to obtain his "best" price on their vehicle. I warned him that I would only give "one shot" at this price quote as I was there to "buy" with cash in hand. As promissed, I called him to recieve the "out the door price" , and at first, we were off base with each other, however, he asked me to "name my price" and he would go to bat for me. Needless to say, within minutes we were doing business together! I ended up with a better, newer, vehicle for less money and with a lot less "haggling" that I was having to go through with the other dealership! Scott, the sales manager, was extremely nice, and understanding of my negotiation tact, and got straight to the point with the numbers. Best car deal I have ever made! More
I appreciate the professionalism Sam Janjooa showed as he gave my sons an education about Hyundai cars. He took time to explain the aspects of the models we were interested in and patiently guided many repeated test drives. Never once did we feel pressured. In the end, both sons came home with new Hyundai's. We benefitted greatly from our first time car buying experience and felt we were more than fairly dealt with. I highly recommend Sam Janjooa & Cherokee Hyundai. ~ LC-Dalton,GA More

My overall experience with my first car purchase in US was very bad... It was my bad luck I ended up in this dealership. But, I have my own reasons for taking time to type such a long review, in a hope th was very bad... It was my bad luck I ended up in this dealership. But, I have my own reasons for taking time to type such a long review, in a hope that this will be useful for someone else.. The salesmen here in this dealership (not everyone, but atleast the one who dealt my car purchase) tried to lure me with false promises (or information or whatever you call)... 1) The car-specs (which they gave me in a printed A4 sheet) mentioned that the car-price includes the dealer fee of $599, but nobody spoke about this during the price negotiation. I know I should have noticed this and I should have asked about this during the negotiation itself. But when I asked this during the payment, their answer was "you already agreed to the discussed price, we cannot reduce anything more. You have to pay the dealership fee of $599 extra apart from the discussed price". 2) After all the additional costs (like $1K for Valorem tax, etc.), I ended up paying $1400 more for extended warranty and tyre warranty, which they mentioned only after I paid the down-payment. I always thought the warranties and blah blah stuff are included in the car price itself (I wondered later how ignorant I am on such things). Fyi, the car I bought was 2010 Santa Fe Sport GLS 2WD 2.4L (5 seater). The final deal price was $22K. I paid $10K down, and I will end up paying $24K including loan-interest in about 32 months. 3) At one point, the dealership found it difficult to get loan approval for me, as I was new to US (2 months old) that time. Some finance offered $10K loan which means the total car price has to be around $20K, which means I cannot buy the Santa Fe. Now, the reason I heard from the dealership was funny & blatant: "for someone with no credit history in US, the finance will offer loan only for new vehicles but not for used ones". So the dealership wanted me to go for a new 2013 Sonata (which again was a demo car with some mileage on it - I remember less than 5K miles), which will fall within the budget of $20K. But somehow this scene vanished and I stuck with Santa Fe itself. 4) Within 2 months of buying, one day the battery dried down and I have to call the road-side assistance who helped me jump-start the car. When I took the car to the dealership, there was another surprise waiting for me... I have to replace the battery, that too with money out of my pocket.. I heard that battery replacements are not covered under any warranty. During the sign-up, I remember everyone in the dealership saying that I don't have to pay anything out of my pocket unless I make any accident. Ok... Overall, I have to admit my faults for not being confident or clear enough to say NO abruptly and get out of the dealership during the negotiation itself... On my first visit to the dealership, I ended up paying the down-payment to confirm the purchase, which was a sheer mistake of mine, no one else to blame :) The vehicle I bought was a demo vehicle, it was not sold to anyone (but remember I'm not the first owner on papers), and it ran 20K miles only in 3 years, I found it good and in clean condition during the test drive.. all these things made me decide to buy on the spot. But given the price I paid to get this not-so-hot, not-so-popular, not-so-recommended car, I realized that I was deceived when it's too late. Finally, I have to write about another reason for my instant sign-up.. my so called "dearest" roommate who accompanied me during the purchase, searched the KBB.com in his smart-phone and claimed that the recommended price was $21.5K, but only after a couple of days I found that the recommended KBB price for the exact model/spec I bought was $18K only (before taxes for Certified Pre-Owned category). thanks for reading a loser's story :) get back to fun... all the best in buying a car!!
