I have been researching hybrid cars for about a year. During that time I’ve read expert and owner reviews about Toyota Prius, Hyundai, Honda and Ford products. I found that few owners praised the fuel efficiency of their cars; most achieved far fewer MPGs than advertised. I visited several dealerships for each manufacturer and spoke with many sales staff. I chose the Fusion because it was fun to drive and Ford of Kirkland based on their Friday “Specials” advertisements which showed big savings on Hybrid Fusion and C Max models. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the stock numbers in the ads actually match vehicles on the lot AND that they were available at the advertised price! I made my purchase on the third visit. Samuel Jennings, the sales rep, also factored into my decision. He was very respectful of my time and didn’t try to rush my decision. Further, Samuel was the only one who really understood how the hybrids work and could explain how to stay in the “EV” or battery driven mode as long as possible to achieve the best economy. Other sales folks limited their remarks to things like “seamless” transition between gas and electric power. Asking them how to achieve anywhere near the advertised 47 MPG was fruitless. To sum it up, Ford of Kirkland offered the best price and Samuel provided the information I needed to make my decision. No, I haven’t gotten the 47 MPG yet. But, paying attention to the EV mode, learning from the “Braking” coach and gently applying the throttle, I got 41 MPG on my second tankful! The Fusion handles beautifully and when necessary, wide open throttle yields a nice rush; a jet compared to a Prius. By the way, I’ve owned 39 cars (my insurer numbers my vehicles consecutively). This Fusion is quieter, rides nicer and handles better than my 08 Benz or 11 Optima turbo. This 13 Fusion Hybrid is a keeper; Ford of Kirkland is a credible price leader; Samuel is the “go to guy” for hybrids or any other vehicle on the lot. More

I came in on a Thursday late afternoon with the intention of test driving vehicles and buying. i went in looking to purchase a used car because i wanted to keep my payments low. when i talked to Jimmy, he answered all my questions before i went to the dealership.
