My experience with Lehman Genesis service has been terrible. I have taken my car there a few times and it never goes particularly well however this time was worth the time to write a review. My bigge terrible. I have taken my car there a few times and it never goes particularly well however this time was worth the time to write a review. My biggest complaint is with the service advisor Santiago however I am a firm believer that individual performance is a reflection of the management. I needed two new tires and was also due for a routine oil change and service. The stock tires on my car 265/40R22 (large tires) so I knew there was a slim chance they would be in stock. (although a dealership should stock tires for a car they sell). My plan was to call ahead and check on the price, availability of the tires, and order ahead if needed. I called the Genesis service no less than 5 times during the week before I took it in for service. Each time, they said someone (Santiago) would get back with me but never did. I felt like calling wouldn’t get me anywhere so I used the app to schedule service and indicated that I needed new tires. When it came time for my appointment (Saturday) I went to drop my vehicle off. I checked it and of course the tires were not available. I spoke with the service advisor (not Santiago) and they said, the tires would be in on Monday. I agreed to bring the vehicle back on Monday for the tires (and oil change since there was no point in waiting around for the oil change). I asked if they needed a deposit for the tires or anything and they said no and that they would arrange for a loaner car for me on Monday. I thanked them and went about my day. On Monday morning, I went back at 7:30 (as previously discussed). At this time, Santiago was there and helped check me in. Unfortunately, I had to go over everything all over again and there was no indication that they were expecting me. In total I spent 45 minutes to check my car in and get a loaner car. When I did finally get the loaner car, it was dirty (not the end of the world) and it was empty….like completely empty…showing 2 miles left before empty. In fairness, Santiago offered to fill it up, however that would have taken another 30 minutes so I agreed to take the car as is and get my own gas since I was already running late. Santiago said “don’t’ worry about the gas at return”. While I know he was serious, what a joke…like how I could I bring it back with any less gas than empty and its appalling to think I would have to bring it back full. He didn’t have any car documents for the loaner and said he would email them…which I never actually received. Later in the day (around 12 PM), I called Santiago to see what the status of the car was (in the past they have not called to say it was ready). I called 4 times over the course of around 3 hours and each time, Santiago was unavailable however someone else said he would call me back and each time, I never head back from him. Around 3 pm, I decided to just head over and see what the status was. My vehicle was on the lot in a normal parking spot with doors open – not locked. (I know to not leave valuables in my car however I do have some personal stuff. I get not locking it when it’s in a service bay, however they should have it locked if people can just walk up to it). The tires had not been changed. When I got to the service counter, Santiago was at lunch so I just asked to have my car back. After about 20 minutes, in which no one could find my keys or paperwork, Santiago did return. He said, they still didn’t have the tires and said he wasn’t sure when they would. I said OK and that I just wanted my car back and I would deal with tires someplace else or another time. I said he OK but I would have to pay for the other work including the tire rotation. With the tires not having been replaced, I know for a fact that they did not rotate the tires. I asked to see the technicians work sheets to see what was actually completed and he said he would be never did. While I was there, he called the service technicians to take other items off the invoice….so basically there were trying to bill me for work that was completed. Ultimately, he said the only thing that was completed was the multipoint inspection (which was free) and the oil change. I asked for my keys to check the oil which he agreed but gave me bunch of attitude and actually didn’t give me keys and was holding them hostage (until I paid the bill)…which is actually illegal but anyhow. I checked the oil on the dipstick on it was dark…indicating the oil had not been changed. I actually had new oil in the back of my car (for work) and I put it on a clean towel for comparison. I am not sure if he agreed or not but ultimately just gave me my keys back and walked off. I actually had to go back to the service counter and talk to someone else to turn loaner car keys back in. Admittedly I was a little heated but rightfully so and that is no excuse for him not acting professionally. Long story short, they (at least Santiago) have poor communication skills, don’t follow through, and they charge for work that’s not completed. In fairness, they probably did intend to complete it all however they didn’t and it was still on my invoice. I should be billed for things as the work as completed..not ahead of time. I think my experience here was worse than usual however was a really good (or bad) example of the type of customer service you should expect to see at Lehman service. More
