Terrible experience My wife and I came to Lehman Hyundai to purchase a leased automobile at the end of the term. The young woman with whom we initially dealt was very ple My wife and I came to Lehman Hyundai to purchase a leased automobile at the end of the term. The young woman with whom we initially dealt was very pleasant, but presented us with some figures for purchasing the car that seemed odd. Lehman Hyundai wanted to charge us $999.50 for a "dealer fee" and an additional $500 charge for which I still have no explanation. We told her that none of these figures were in our contract. So she got her manager, Alain Ruiz, to come explain these numbers to us. He did very little to explain the figures and was extremely rude to me and especially my wife, because she challenged is numbers. During yhis time at Lehman Hyundai, I contacted the main Hyundai lease office in Texas and found out that in Florida dealers are allowed to charge dealer fees for purchasing a leased car. This is obviously because car dealers in Florida have lobbied Tallahassee so that not only we do we pay dealer fee when we obtain a lease, but we also have to pay a dealer fee when we buy the lease at the end of the term. Our representatives at work for us...the people. Setting aside the unfairness of this to the consumer, the difference is that Lehman Hyundai charges $999.50. Whereas every other Hyundai dealership in Florida charges $699.00. Further, the mysterious $500 charge that Lehman Hyundai tried to charge appears nowhere else but at Lehman Hyundai. This is an unscrupulous dealership and if you ever have the misfortune of having to buy from them, I would recommend that you go over every line and every charge meticulously and challenge everything you find questionable. I promise you that they are trying to gouge you in some way. From the perspective of my family, we will never deal with them again. More
