Illini Nissan is great! My car was making a squealing sound that got increasingly worse. I live in Bloomington and teach in Champaign so I stopped after work to have them check it out. Even though it was sound that got increasingly worse. I live in Bloomington and teach in Champaign so I stopped after work to have them check it out. Even though it was fifteen minutes before they closed, they checked it out for me. I found out if I had driven home to Bloomington my car would have caught on fire. The caliper had frozen, the tie rod and rotor were jacked up and the brake was nearly worn out. I had no way home and my son was with me. He started school in Champaign Monday because we are moving here next week. Gary was kind enough to loan me a complimentary rental car for the night and they had my car back on the road by lunchtime the following day!!! The price I paid was well under the estimate they had supplied, which is great considering I need all the money I can get for my house closing next week. Before this week I had no clue who my local mechanic would be once we move. I have had the same mechanic in Bloomington since 1990, so I need a mechanic I can trust. Luckily, I have already found Illini Nissan!!! More

I brought my Nissan in for service this past Saturday and worked with Gary McCaskill. Gary is very friendly and accomodating. I came in for an oil change and tire rotation. Gary had come to me and told me the serpentine belt needed replaced and I agreed to that. When I went to pay, the bill was about $100 more than expected. Wh come to me and told me the serpentine belt needed replaced and I agreed to that. When I went to pay, the bill was about $100 more than expected. When I asked for details I found I was being charged for a battery. Nothing had been said about a battery needing replaced, and I had just had to replace the battery two years ago. (I hope they last longer that 2 years.) The Cashier brought it to Gary's attentions and he took care of getting the charge for the battery removed, as he agreed, the battery was not replaced. There is still a charge for $9.58 that I don't understand. It simply says, "Customer pay shop charge for repair order." What is that? Am I paying $9.58 just for coming in for service? I would encourage the cashier to walk through the bill with the customer. More
