Leaving 3 stars because we really enjoyed our salesman Emerson. He was patient with us and was a trooper sitting next to our screaming baby during our test drives. He truly wanted to make sure we were hap Emerson. He was patient with us and was a trooper sitting next to our screaming baby during our test drives. He truly wanted to make sure we were happy with what we purchased. The manager Chris is SHADY. By the time we decided on a vehicle and started paperwork, it was after banks closed. I was given the purchase agreement with the (partial) price breakdown to give to the bank. I questioned why there were 2 different numbers listed regarding my trade- in allowance and payoff and was never told how much they had appraised my trade for. I asked “you guys are paying it off for me?” meaning giving me the amount I still owe on it. And was told that they were. I’m glad I got to take the purchase agreement home and look it over that night. I kept adding all the numbers listed on the agreement and was not getting the same number listed in the total. I was 2K shy every way I added it. I eventually figured out that they were low balling my trade and NOT paying me what I owed on it, and the extra 2K in the total was negative equity, but this was not mentioned to me AT ALL. It also included me putting a down payment of $1500 which was also not discussed, not that specific number at least. This put a SUPER bad taste in my mouth and comes off really shady. I was going to cancel the deal completely, but the thought of shopping for another day for a car was exhausting and I really wanted this one. I decided to remove my trade in from the deal, and called the salesman to get my new total to give to the bank. I asked if they could email me over the new purchase agreement so the loan officer and I could see it, but was told they could only give it to me in person. This was also shady to me because I just wanted to see it and have a visual, and still would’ve signed it at the dealership before the deal. I showed up to the dealership with the check for the amount I was told over the phone, then when I got to the dealership, low and behold, the check was $1500 less than what the purchase agreement stated. This was super inconvenient and annoying because my loan officer had been working all morning to get things finalized and we got a good monthly payment set up, just for everything to have to change again. I wasn’t told over the phone that the total they were giving me was in addition to a $1500 down payment (again, no idea where the $1500 number came from). No one even tried to remedy this situation for us and we didn’t get an apology for the mix up either. The manager sat down and very quickly blamed our salesman for giving me the wrong number, and asked how I was going to proceed, but I know that our salesman just gave me the number he was told by his manager. I honestly should’ve just left and said screw it at this point because this was strike 2 and that bad taste in my mouth was getting worse. I felt very judged and looked at like I was stupid because the check was short and I wish my husband had come in with me but he was in the car with our kids. I ended up having to get an entirely new check and sign new paperwork at the bank, go pick it up and bring it back to get everything finalized. I then stood waiting with my baby for almost a half an hour in the lobby for my salesman because the finance guy said he contacted him and let him know we were done, but when I finally decided to walk over to the next building I found Emerson and he had no idea we were finished and waiting on him. It seems to me like there’s a big lack of communication between the different departments. The icing on the cake of this experience was when I finally went to leave in my new purchase and the screen immediately dings that the key fob battery is really low. We had discussed with both the manager and Emerson the day before about getting a new battery in it before we purchased so that didn’t end up with a key that didn’t work in a few days. Surprise, it wasn’t done, that was strike 3. Don’t recommend. More
