Hello. Thank you for your message. My wife wrote the review. Personally, I don't leave 1-star reviews because any organization can have a bad day. I'm going to try to give you some feedback that is possibly useful. No single customer experience should have tremendous weight, but maybe you're hearing the same things from multiple customers. That used car building / showroom has a vibe that does not encourage me to spend money there. The exterior looks pretty rough. The interior is just bad. For example, someone needs to clean the HVAC vents. The men's room looks like it was built 30 years ago. Everything is worn out. The inactive popcorn and hot dog equipment in the showroom look a little silly. In terms of personnel, we had a good experience with Lamont. I recommend having a female employee on duty at all times. When I walked in, I felt surrounded by stereotypical Bubbas: middle-aged white guys who probably hate my politics. Admittedly, that is a very superficial impression and stereotypes are often misleading. With regard to sales manager Pete: I had many of the same negative impressions that my wife had. My first thought, based on his appearance and body language and speech, was that he had been plucked out of 1964 and dropped into that showroom. I perceived that he was irritated about something. I don't know why he would be irritated at us, and the source of his irritation was probably elsewhere. Even so, he was sending strong negatives signals that influenced my perception of him. We were disappointed that our price / offer was not accepted. As I write this, I'm trying to filter that out of my thoughts about the dealership. I'm a novice car buyer and I may have unrealistic expectations. Perhaps this is the greatest indictment: My wife said that, even if that dealership had a car that met our requirements and our budget, she would not want to spend money there. She doesn't want to reward an organization that operates that way. She feels that a quality organization would not put up with Pete. I don't feel that way about the dealership as a whole, but I never want to speak to Pete again. Having grown up near Lafayette, the Rohrman brand is a pretty strong in my mind. Our experience, on this particular evening, fell far short of expectations. I'm not angry but I do feel like I have something to say. If you're hearing the same things from multiple people, then you'll know that there are issues. I wish you guys success and all the best going forward. Tim Gale 317-965-5370
