Not sure if it’s because I’m a young female, because none of the older male customers he spoke with seemed to have the same attitude. He listed several issues with my car but when I asked “so what does that mean” and “can you show me where,” he just repeated the same thing he had said, verbatim. Didn’t even recommend solutions or fixes (i.e. suggesting an auto body shop). I just don’t understand what I did to xxxx him off or why he had to have such an attitude, every other Subaru dealer I’ve been to has prided itself in customer service. When my car was done being worked on he dumped my papers at the cashier and told me to sign without explanation. At that point I felt too embarrassed and belittled to ask him any more questions. I came to this dealer because it was the closest to me, but as soon as I left I drove to another service center who helped me get the work I needed done instead. More

My experience was poor communications, very shady finance pratices, and a very lackadaisical attitude. I had purchased this car on a Sunday and struggled to have the deal modification made as it seemed like way too much work for the staff, So on would figure that after five full working day the car was not ready, had only a half tank of gas (promised full tank) and no State inspection sticker, They did no provide all the keys for the car.either. Seems like the attitude was do not worry just come back. Poor service, and not fully support the gold extended warrentee For me it is time to find a reputable dealer. I now regret not going to the Nissan dealer. More

Fraudulent & Poor Quality Services Department I purchased a new Subaru from this dealership 4 years ago and have had all of my services performed here because of the free oil change incentive. I purchased a new Subaru from this dealership 4 years ago and have had all of my services performed here because of the free oil change incentive. This past December I had brought the car in for the 60,000 mile service that is required under warranty and paid what was due for the service. In January I was experiencing issues with the Hvac/ Heating in the car and had to bring it in for repair. After 3 failed attempts to fix the issue (and them trying to get a deductible each time) I took the car to a different Subaru dealership who pointed out that I needed to do the 60,000 mile service. This was concerning seeing how I had just had the service done at Prime Subaru, but after further inspection it was clear as day that the cabin air filter was never changed, the tires were never aligned (or done properly), and the brake fluid was pretty dirty, making me wonder what I got for the $700 charge besides prematurely worn tires. On a separate occasion I had to have the short block replaced because of over oil consumption. Leading up to this I tried addressing the issue to the service manager who would not listen to my case and dismissed the issue. After contacting Subaru HQ they had me bring the car for the oil consumption test. I believe I did the test 4 times with them denying there was an issue. On the 5th time I caught that they were overfilling the oil so it would read normal and marking the dipstick incorrectly. Cut to 6 months later after these guys replaced the shortblock and every light on my dash was on. I once again addressed the issue because it was all relative to the areas of the service and was denied help because there was "no way the issues are related". Subaru HQ had me take the car to a different dealership who found that Prime Subaru did not seal anything up after the engine replacement causing all kinds of failures. More

Negative Car Buying Experience I went with my husband to look at a great deal we found online through CarGurus on a used Honda. We were specific that this was the car we wanted to l I went with my husband to look at a great deal we found online through CarGurus on a used Honda. We were specific that this was the car we wanted to look at, and went through the usual process of what we wanted in a car, what we wanted our monthly payments to be, etc., and it was determined that this car might be a good option for us. We took it for a test drive, and while our salesman was not very professional, decided that we did want to buy this car as it was priced very low. I am well aware that negotiating the price is part of buying a car, and that it is never a very fun experience. We started out saying that we wanted our monthly payments to be a certain amount, and eventually agreed to raise that payment amount. My husband and I decided that we would go up $25 a month from what we initially planned for, which felt like a significant increase to us, and we felt it showed that we were willing to be flexible on our end. Our salesman came in $2 over that, and we said we just couldn't do it - we were going to draw the line somewhere. The manager came over to talk to us before we left, and we explained the situation exactly as above. My husband said that we were already pushing what we had agreed upon, and, once again, we had to draw a line, and the manager told him that if he was willing to walk away over $2, he really shouldn't be looking to buy a car. We then asked to speak to a different manager since we did not appreciate that comment, and he tried to backtrack and say that he didn't mean to be offensive, but $2 was such a small amount, and no, we wouldn't be talking to another manager. And while yes, $2 is a small amount, it is small to the dealer as well and we'd already pushed past what we wanted to spend, so it was a lot to us. This in addition to the condescending tone and unprofessional salesman made us walk away. We went to get lunch afterward, and I got a voicemail from a different manager. He said if we came back he would make us the deal we wanted and we wouldn't have the manager from before. We ran a few more errands while trying to decide if we wanted to go back - buying a car is always a stressful experience, and having someone be rude on top of that makes it hard to want to give them your business. We got a text from a manager saying the same thing as the voicemail, and we decided to go back, and responded to say we'd be there in about 15 minutes. When we got to the dealership, I asked for the man that had texted me. We were brought over to him and while he seemed like he would be willing to help us, he had no clue what we were talking about. I showed him the text that was sent saying it was from him, and he let us know that he had not texted us - so someone else had using his name. This just added to the bad taste in our mouth. Our salesman came over and brought us to the building the he works in - a small annex that a few salespeople work in. We said we would make the deal, and he went over a few things with us and then left, presumably to work on our contract. The building we were in was empty, and I think I'm under-exaggerating when I say we were left there for at least a half hour, but probably longer, with no one else around at all, and we never did meet with another manager. Finally came the time to work with a finance manager (Kevin Huffman), and I will say this was the one positive interaction we had. Kevin was polite, professional, kind - he answered every single one of our questions and was just truly great to work with, and I'd highly recommend working with him to anyone. Unfortunately, while it seemed we left on a good note, since we live in Maine they needed to mail us the title. In order to register your car, you need either the application for the title or the title itself. You have 20 days after you buy the car, and a week and a half after buying the car, I went to register it. I gave the woman all of the paper work I had been given, and she let me know I was missing the application to the title/the title itself. She then called Prime and asked them - they simply said I should have the title. After going through everything I had in the car, I called the dealership and asked to speak to the finance manager since we'd had a good experience with him. He looked into it, and found out that no one had ever mailed me the title even though it was supposed to be sent right away, meaning I could not register the car. He overnighted the title to me which was very much appreciated, however I'd still spent about an hour trying to register my car. Overall, I would say that while I got a good deal on my car, I do regret giving them my business. If you choose to go here to buy a car, be prepared for a frustrating day and to follow up to ensure you have everything you need. More
